Had a great time at
beldar's Pastafarian Devival and birthday celebration. On Talk Like a Pirate Day, we gathered at the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Indy, and sang, laughed and consumed mass quantities, generally promoting that old tradition, "Freaking the Mundanes." I picked up a few more LJ ID's and have therefore now added several new/old friends:

kendokamel (who wasn't actually there but the face finally got matched to the handle), as well as
friendstephen.
Friday night was the usual gathering at Gamerz, minus katmandu07, who was babysitting her granddaughter. When we were booted out of the store, we migrated to a house and continued playing into the wee hours. I got to sleep around 6:30 AM and slept on and off until almost 4PM, when I was awakened by an invitation to return to the same said house and play more games. Got back to Kat's place again (she was there for this session) around 6, and was up until after 8. Sunday, cleaned house and then it was time for Monday and back to work.
We gathered again at the same friend's place on Monday night for the season premiere of Heroes, and some more gaming after that, but not nearly as late.
Now here is a meme I picked up from

Mind you, I generally hate these things, but for some reason, I decided to give this one a run for its money.
Here's how it works: You post a comment requesting a letter, and I will give you one. Then you post ten things that you love, that start with that letter.
The letter I got from per_solo was D, so here is my list.
1. Dessert - Most important meal of the day.
2. Dread Pirate Roberts - "The Princess Bride" is still in my top five all-time favorite movies.
3. Dogs - possibly the only true unconditional love you will ever find
4. Dollars - not in the sense you might think, but because the few I have and earn are all that is keeping me alive
5. Devil's Advocate - great brain exercise, arguing the other guy's side
6. Dungeon crawls - or more generally, RPGs
7. Dragons - see #6, but also in general
8. Darwin Awards - cleaning up the gene pool
9. Dilbert - great comic strip
10. Delays - I am a horrible procrastinator; note that getting this out took more than a week.
Now a twist: reverse it, and give me ten things you hate (or strongly dislike, if that's too strong a word for you) starting with the same letter.
My ten:
1. Dimwits - self-explanatory
2. Dawn - unless I am still up by then, I never want to see one
3. Doom - and other first person shooters. Never did see the point, and they encourage bad behavior.
4. Dentist visits - who really does like them?
5. Demonic possession - not having any control sucks ass
6. Debt - self explanatory, I should think
7. Dictatorship - the political system based on the philosophy that one man is smarter than many men. As opposed to Democracy, based on the philosophy that many men are smarter than one man. Thanks to George Carlin for that.
8. Disco - need I say more?
9. Dominance games - or macho crap in general. And I'm not talking sexually here. That's a whole other matter.
10. Dreamlessness - It's been many years since I've had one I can remember
