Just realized that it has been over three weeks since my last posting.
As many of my friends have already posted, InConJunction was a great success and much fun,
despite a few mishaps. There's always something, every year, but somehow we manage to
survive and move on. As for me personally, it was busy, busy, busy all weekend, and little to no
time for anything I actually WANTED to do. But so it goes when you are part of the organizing group
rather than just an attendee.
Work progresses. I've been adding clients left and right, and will now be up to about 35 hours per
week, starting next week. The difficult part of it is all the driving back and forth. Not that I dislike
driving; in fact I really enjoy it. But gas is a real issue right now, and the less I need to use, the better.
On the plus side, all of my clients seem to like me a lot, and think I'm doing a great job, so I'm sure
that this will be a great reference source for me. Meanwhile, the hunt for a regular full-time job
continues.
An old friend's mother passed the other day. I remember her from the time I lived in Connecticut,
and though I didn't get to see her all that often, it is still difficult to imagine her not being around.
It was kind of strange, actually... I had this tradition back then of visiting all of my friends' parents
on Christmas Day, unless I knew they were away or having a private family function. Being Jewish,
this was a nice way for me to spend an otherwise pretty useless day. Actually, though, that day is
also significant in that it was the day I arrived for the first time in Indianapolis, back in 1996.
Dinner is almost ready, so I'll leave it there. It's just going to get hotter here, so all you Indy locals
do your best to keep cool. I'll ramble on again soon.
