okay, here's the setup: I'm reading Fandom Wank (my new crack supplier) and there's this article just posted. Long and short of it, on the latest ep of some show called Supernatural which I don't watch and know nothing about, apparently the two main characters (brothers) discover that someone knows all about them and is writing their "actual" lives like fanfic and discover that these people write OMGSLASH about them, and they say "that's sick" -- which granted real brotehrs would do, if even that politely. And the fanbase, especially the slashers, are screaming that their show is mocking them. Oh dear. It's too good to read, really.

The reason I'm mentioning this is remember waaay back in Sanctuary when Valjean turned down Mère Adele's advances and she started the rumor about him and Javert, and their reaction? Oh yeah. Priceless.
