It's a long story, but...

From nine years ago.

Seriously.

the only thing I wonder more than a) cause of death (seriously, 40 years old?) is b) when he took up scuba diving? Cause he sure didn't do that when I knew him...

I'm not sure how to feel about it really. So... I'll know more when I think about it.

UPDATE: Ordered a copy of the death certificate from the county. So, hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll know what went down.

BTW, when I said I'm not sure how to feel about it, I did NOT mean that "happy" was one of the choices. It's weird that in my head he's been alive, and I've wondered about him, and avoided conventions that he might be at, and so on. I've grazed websites looking for info before but I've figured he didn't have a public FB (he was very compy-savvy; he taught me how to build and maintain mine back before there really were decent PCs. Like in the late 80's). Also search websites still list him as being alive (and, oddly, they list me among the relatives...) so I never suspected otherwise. I just thought he didn't want his life all over the internet. Turns out he was gone before the internet really exploded.

minor update: just realized that he died before LOTR: The Two Towers came out. I don't know why it bothers me that he never saw more than the first movie.

Still wrapping my brain around it. Will update moar later.

obit
