Muslims Wearing Things
Hi there. I just want to take time out of my day to mention this. This is awesome in a 40 oz can.
The Tumblr blog "Muslims Wearing Things" was set up to respond to former NPR asshat (and current FOX asshat) Juan Williams who said he was afraid of "Muslim garb" wearing people in airports. This blog shows Muslims in garb. Most of them are famous Muslims: Kareem Abdul Jabbar in a cowboy hat, Aasiv Mandvi in a chef's hat (hey, as long as it's not a Fire Nation uniform; I'm afraid I draw the line there ;-) ) and so on. Also everyday Muslims in military dress, police garb, in uniform at the Olympics, in a designer gown on the red carpet, etc. etc. Oh and the current King of Jordan from when he guest starred on Star Trek: Voyager. In a Starfleet Uniform.
Yeah, you want it now don't you. Go look. Seriously.
Just putting this here to boost the signal.
Sometimes I think the only way humans can stand it when asshats take over the room is that things like this come up because of it, countering it, not with anger but with in your face calmness. Today I feel much better about being a human among humans.
