I like my job, overall.  The work isnt' difficult, I love my general manager, the hours are totally doable and I can eat really healthily (when I so choose.) But I hate being salary.  Maybe if I'd passed "How to Say No, 101" I'd be ok but I suck at it.  I already work a 52 ish hour work week regularly.  I'm used to it, no big deal.  Yve, the ( Read more... )

I think you are completly justified in feeling stressed out. ANd yes, if you are stressed out about working on your day off then you definatly need to learn to say no! I've slowly been learning that little two letter word. Like last time it was my day off and they needed someone to call in...I didn't go. If Chris and I had just been sitting around doing nothing I would have gone in but I had errands planed and things to do.

I heard somewhere that Americans have the least amount of vacation time and time away from work. I don't know the validity of that statement, but I think it's true. Even if the Americans part isnt a lot of us work too much! I know I do. I hate spending my time off thinking about work.

The least you can get is 2 days off. Especially if your five day work week consists of more than 40 hours...like mine does. And you have to think of it this way...what do you want out of this job? Do you want to work hard, move up in someway? Prove your worth? Then doing those things like working on days off is worth it.

Or is it all just to be nice and get some extra cash? YOur stress level isn't worth that!

Ok...I'm done for now. I have to go take a shower because I now have to go in for my 6th day of work this week...well really 5th, but I work tomorrow normally which put is at 6.
