(no subject)
So canada was fun. We didn't do a lot of touristy things but I had a really good time. My main purpose was to meet Greg's friends and family and I feel I did a pretty good job of that. I almost got hit in the head by an acorn the first day but my cat-like reflexes saved me. We went to dinner with Owais, Greg and a couple of their friends, JOnah and Matty, and later joined by Jeremiah. I liked his friends a lot. We watched a strange movie and then hit the hay. Friday I went with Greg's family sailing on his dad's boat. It was a lot of fun but it kept putting me to sleep. We had dinner at his place that night and then went back to Owais' where we watched Battlestar Gallactica. The next day was the traditional annual basketball tournament. Normally it's held in Greg's backyard but it was raining so they moved it to a rec center. While they were deciding that I took a run along the boardwalk next to the lake which is two seconds from Greg's house. It was beautiful. And really nice to not have dogs. I watched the first game and then was talked into playing the second. Not that I mind playing. I like to do those sorts of things. But I am really bad at basketball. I mean really bad. I dont' even have a clue as to the rules. It was fun.
We had a bbq later nad I gave free massages to several of the players. Greg was nice enough to return the favor. I was staying at Greg's that night so after everyone left we went to a bar and had a couple of drinks. It was a lot of fun.
The next day was his friend big Ray's housewarming/engagement party. IT was so much fun. Big Ray's fiance kidnapped me right when I walked into the door and then introduced me to absolutely everyone there. I didnt' catch a single name. Luckily Matty was there so I knew someone. I met Adriene,whom I've heard tons about, and made friends with several of the other people there. THey were sooooo nice. Excellent hosts. After the pary died down a bit, and greg and I were the only two non-asians there, we busted out the wine and gold schlagger shots. Got a bit tipsy and had a great time.
We left monday after lunch with hsi dad and grandma. WE weren't on the same flight but we left near to the same time. I had a layover in Chicago and the first flight was full so I had to wait an extra hour or so. Overall it was a great trip. There were a few things I know I wanted to write about but they are eluding me at the moment. Plus I"m cooking dinner and watching tv. But I wanted to post something.
