They started a post in the pics section bashing people spending 10,000 on this when it "could have gone to something to help people of Katrina" - the same old story. And you know that these people probably haven't donated anything to Katrina victims. Everytime they spend a spare penny, I wish I could be there to say "That should have been donated to someone that needs it. Not just spent on something you wanted!!!" lol It's not like one person donated $10,000. Hundreds of people donated amounts to get us there.
Oh and they are bashing the layout of the ad. Didn't we ask everyone tons of times for any help anyone wanted to give? Why yes, I believe we did - FOR 6 MONTHS! If you didn't voice your opinion, then you can't complain because you could have helped with the layout. So fuck off negative people on the JJB. LOL
But back to your original point, wtf is wrong with people? I'd like to know the answer to that as well. :) And that was a long rant. Ooops!
hey rant away....I think no one worked as hard as you and Jessa on this, if anyone deserves the right to rant it's one of you.
I'm personally very proud of you both.
And you know what? Some folks will bitch about anything just for the sake of bitching.
I was fortunate enough to be able to donate to both...and it's not like anyone FORCED me to do it! Good lord. I think some folks need to mind their own business (or turn over the majority of their salaries to charity and live like monks...then they can talk)
I don't want to start something but I was one of those people who didn't agree with this but think it's a nice gesture or thought. I love NSYNC but felt my money shouldn't go this way to a ad. Maybe if it was another type of project would've felt different. And I infact did contribute to Katrina. So can't blame all people not giving money anywhere.
But overall it's a nice idea and out off all the comment responses so far from the guys JC's has to be the best very touching :D
I totally respect that you wanted your money to go somewhere else. I wish that everyone could respect that each person gets to make that decision. Some people on that board have not been respectful and do not know the whole story behind each person's donation. That's why I'm upset.
I'd say that the majority of people that donated to the project also donated to Katrina. There were many who had planned on donating a larger amount and could only donate $5 to our project after they gave to Katrina. So to imply that we don't care about donating to charity efforts and instead "wasted" our money, that was what really affected me.
I was just upset because we constantly have to defend ourselves from being bashed and I don't believe that is fair.
"That should have been donated to someone that needs it. Not just spent on something you wanted!!!"
This could also apply to any disposable income that we spend on things we 'want'. We certainly don't 'need' cell phones, CDs, nights out clubbing, concert tickets or flat-screen tvs. I would guess that the average contribution to the ad was far less than most people spend on cable television in a year.
People need to stop comparing the ad to a charity effort - it wasn't. We wanted to express our love for NSync and we paid Billboard a fee to make that love loud enough for the guys to hear.
Exactly. People weren't being asked to donate a week's worth of pay to the ad or anything. If we could only give a dollar, we gave a dollar. It isn't the amount that you gave, it's the feeling behind it.
Kind of like donating to Katrina, yes?
But HOORAY for JC's reaction. It was so heartfelt, as always, coming from him. And it was exactly what we were all hoping to hear, I think.
And I actually had to do a double take when I pasted it over from the blog... I wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten to take the "r" from "heard" over or something. LOL
The typo is just his way of proving to us that it's him. ;) That's how I look at it. It was a great typo for a slash joke! Maybe that was his gift back to us. lol
But seriously, I'm so happy he wrote about how much it meant to him. Makes up for all those horrible people on the JJB that I saw today. :D
1 to go! Come on Justin - post (in all caps) on the NSIDERS board. It won't kill you! ahahahahaha!!

They're just jealous because the guys are all excited and they don't get to be the reason because they didn't bother to participate. =P
