I said I would, and by golly, I'm updating. This past weekend was a complete blast. I don't even know where to begin, but I guess it would be smart to go through the events chronologically. So here goes nothing: I had to work saturday, so my weekend didnt officially begin until I was done with work. Lucky me, I had to work late saturday to finish moving all the beds at camp, in the pouring rain nonetheless (yeehaw!). I finally left saturday night to go to Caseville to see Marta. I didn't get there until eleven at night, but still had plenty o' energy to go with her and Nancy to the pier (the view was amazing). After I got much needed sleep, Marta and I went to the beach where we talked and even swam a little. Then...We went jet-skiing! We took the smaller jet-ski this time, which was a little more tipsy (just a little!) and so much fun. We must have fallen off half-a-dozen times, two of which involved completely flipping the jet-ski. Then the jet-ski ran out of gas in the middle of the bay. We used the reserve tank to just barely make it back. Afterwards, my legs felt like jelly partly from trying not to fall off the jet-ski and mostly because of the adrenaline. Then I met most of marta's close friends at a bon-fire for her birthday par-tay. They were all hilarious and I had a great time with them (especially koerner...I think that is how his name is spelled...but seriously, what a funny guy). I had to call it a night though around 1:30 because of one of my annoying migraines, but regardless, I had a ton of fun. Sure, there were times I felt awkward, but those moments were sparse and short-lived. Hell, after a while I felt like I even knew some of her friends. The next day we went to the beach again and played in the water. Believe it or not, the water temps werent bad at all the whole time I was there. Next, we went to Mitch's, the restaurant where Marta works and probably the nicest one I have EVER been to. Seriously. Holy Cow. Believe it or not, I was just slightly nervous about meeting her boss, but everything turned out great. The food was absolutely amazing...oh...the food. First the bread...then the soup...and the pasta with chicken...and yes, the dessert: heavenly. Even though that last sentence probably made no sense, I am sure you get the picture. Basically, the best food EVER. And I learned recently that I was a hit with her fellow staff, so that makes it even better. Later that night we went and saw Wedding Crashers in Bay City. It was ok. It had its funny moments and its supposed-to-be-funny-but-actually-not-that-funny moments. The last day I was there Marta and I went to the beach again (if you didnt get the picture yet; yes, we love the beach). We went to Caro to eat dinner with her parents before I had to leave. Then we said goodbye and i drove home. Wednesday, it was back to work. A fairly normal day at first became full of anger. My boss Ted and I had a heated argument with the director of the camp, Jane. There was some yelling and swearing involved, and basically nothing was solved (thanks to Jane's ability to talk around problems). I also hurt my back, which at the current moment, doesnt feel much better at all. Thursday and Friday were without incident. Which leads me to...now, I believe. Having basically written a paper and being that it is Friday night, I must bid you farewell. Oh, and its the little things that make life worth living. Just thought I would fill you in on that. Peace
