Thanks to the lovely eleri, I was made aware of this entry from theferrett. As a geek, mammophile, and occasional convention attendee, I find the concept fascinating.

As an aside, the comments on the entry vary widely across the pro and con spectrum.

That was an interesting read. The OP kind of lost me when he told one commenter that he would have gladly felt her up because "you're very pretty." Then it took on that "lonely guy" feel.

Haha, I said feel.

I have to say that I agree with the people who think that the boobie-grab would lose its specialness if it were a mass thing. I've enjoyed the parties we had where the girlies were grabbing each other, but it was still an intimate and trusting act, even if not explicitly sexual.

Complicated!

As I told him in a comment, I think that it would be both intimate and sexual, at least in part. I did appreciate the fact that it was fully consensual, and the scenario did seem more respectful than the usual, stereotypical drooling fanboy request (what theferrett referred to as "louts"). I'm actually a very private person when it comes to activities like that, and while I'll happily ogle women in certain situations (when I and they consider it appropriate), I don't think I'd touch them.

I think the issue is that, whether or not there's the concept that it's okay to ask, there would still be that moment of decision that the boob-owner would have to deal with. Yes you can, no you can't. And then it just comes back to the way that these things usually work!

I think we've moved past the boobie-grabbing stage now that we have to throw parties with five children in the house, so the point is likely moot for me, anyway. :)

The person receiving the request is certainly on the spot, as social convention would have it, but hopefully the understanding on both sides is that declining would be no harm, no foul. If not, it would seem to defeat the purpose of the idea. That said, your point is well taken. Those conventions go rather deep.

Our kids are a bit older, but we limit our partying to when we travel. I'm very careful (as are my friends) about how I behave around those under 21. It's one of those "treat other people's children as you'd want your children treated" notions.

As I said to the ferret person: Wow! I want to play! That sounds like fun.

Nice icon, Anita! I'll bet you'd get asked a lot. Respectfully, of course.
