Stubbing a pencil

First time I stubbed a pencil. Still 34mm left though.

The pencil used is the Faber Castell Perfect Pencil. Tried two types actually, the cheap plastic version and the more expensive UFO design.

Lets start with the system. There are two pencil extension/eraser tool that I know of. The more famous Faber Castell Perfect Pencil, and the less famous similar product from Staedtler, The Pencil. Both basically provide function as pencil cap, extender, and sharpener in single package. Oh, and eraser.

From both the plastic and metal Perfect Pencil… unfortunately, the more expensive model gives me some troubles in daily life.
Mainly the rubber o-ring they use for grip. It makes the pencil more difficult to slip into pen loops.
The metal pen clip is also more stiff (I’m just spoiled by their fountain pen’s spring loaded clips).

Well, as been said in many reviews, it’s a simple accessories that help making the old and proven tool more convenient to use. Having a sharpener ready to use is making me use wooden pencil more often after moving to mechanical pencil. After all, wooden pencil is easier to use for shading.
