I need a goban.
I wish I'd brought my portable one with me - nowhere near as good as an actual goban, but it's better than nothing. And "nothing" is precisely what I have.
I just have this problem that popped into my head. I'm pretty sure I've solved it mentally, but I want to confirm that I've solved it and for that, I need a goban. *sigh*
Also, I want to play out a few short games they have in one of my books, and I need a goban for that, too.
Another thing to add to my list of things to try to buy over the summer.
EDIT: Guh?! o_o I just played an even game against a 4kyu - though he was pretending to be a weak newcomer to KGS. ... I lost by 68.5 points playing white, but I'm pretty sure he was going really easy on me. That's not what has me going o_o. What has me going o_o is that he compared me favourably to Hikaru. Yes, Hikaru of Hikaru no Go. o_o He also said that my corner fight wasn't the play of a 30kyu and that I was too strong for my rank.

These more experienced players keep complementing me, and I'll get an inflated head! :p Seriously, though, why do they keep saying stuff like that? It's starting to wierd me out. I just study and play a lot. I make a lot of stupid mistakes, too. This time, for example, I didn't notice that one of my groups were in atari and lost 11 stones and 10 points of territory - there went a good portion of the 68.5 pts I lost by. Connecting would have saved that stuff and probably won me a few more points. So, yeah... dunno where they keep coming up with this stuff... I suck right now, like all beginners, and I fully expect to continue to suck for at least a year. :p
Anyway, I'll play one more game, then eat supper and do some laundry and finish my math assignment (I should start soon since I have to airdry said laundry because I'm nearly out of cash... speaking of which, I need to call mom and tell her I grossly underestimated how much money I have - wasn't expecting groceries to cost that much and forgot that I have to do laundry).
If it weren't for the fact that the "annoyed" emoticon thingie goes with my last post, I think my current emoticon thingie would be "freaked out"... :S
