“This is stupid,” Kakashi said, lazily leaning on a wall, his infamous smutty book in hand.

“You’re only saying that because you’re afraid I’ll win,” replied Gai. “It would tip the balance of our contests in my favour.”

Kakashi rolled his good eye. “Please. I’m just worried you’ll wind up humiliating yourself and I’ll have that fanatic of yours at my heels for the foreseeable future.”

“I will not humiliate myself!” Gai emphasized this with a wild gesticulation that nearly hit an innocent passerby in the head. “If I lose, I’ll-”

Now Kakashi’s eye crinckled in a way that meant he was probably smirking. “You’ll what? Bounce around the city wall on your butt?”

“No! I’ll walk around the city wall in a hand stand.”

“You’ve done that already.”

“Backwards!”

“I still think you’ve done that.”

“A hundred times!”

“If you’re sure,” Kakashi said with the air of one much put-upon. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

“What, are you scared?”

At that, Kakashi stood up, walked over to a chair, and sat. He signaled the owner of the Ichiraku Ramen shop. “Two bowls of ramen, please.”

Onlookers later said that it was quite amusing to watch as Gai-sensei tried to walk around Konoha’s wall backwards on his hands after having eaten no less than 17 bowls of ramen.

This represents another fanfiction first for me. ^^ Hope it wasn't too horrible. Still, I think it's silly enough.

Thanks. ^^ It's rare that my own writing makes me giggle, but the mental image of an overstuffed Gai-sensei trying to walk backwards in a handstand around Konoha makes me snicker. :D

Of course, that mental image would probably make anyone snicker.
