It's good I have a happy icon, but I'm not laughing right now

So I said I'd start writing here again even if no one reads it but me. Why am I writing down bad feelings for prosperity, I don't know. Let's call it a cleansing thing.

Man, I hate international post sometimes. This is supposed to be easy. I use a very expensive service to make it so. At $38 a pop I charge the client for shipping, it doesn't even cover the real cost, you feel me? And still I get all the stress, because time-sensitive orders go missing. How does this happen??

It always happens with the orders I already have a problem with, too, like the bad experience for the client has to be topped off or something WHY??

I've been filing claims and making calls and basically beating my head against the wall all morning. I got so shaky I had to go lie down. (Yes, I'm 19 century like that. That, and I've been up for over 30 hours.) If you pay a staggering amount of money for an insured and trackable delivery within 3 days, doesn't it stand to reason that when it's been over a week there'll be some sort of followup? That they at least go look for it when I call asking about it? Instead I get fake names and numbers to call, everyone passing the buck and looking no further than the same tracking info I'm seeing (really, I needed you for that?!), clerks telling me it could take 3 weeks before my claim is even looked at by the staff, and they're not even apologizing for it! Fuck you to the fucking third degree, I'm taking my business to FedEx.

As soon as I figure out how to absorb the triple shipping fee, and move all my export registration to boot.

Eh, I already know it's not much better there. I tried UPS too, their 2 days delivery, and the package took a trip around the world and got delayed in Europe before making it to Canada, arriving a week later than promised with no explanation as to why. Effing international post, man. It would have been easier if I flew each package my damn self.

I emailed the client, letting them know I'm taking care of it. Thankfully they were pretty relaxed about it, saying it'll probably get there this week. I'm relieved they're not climbing the walls, that's my job, and I feel like I'm failing at it. I've already wrote down on my to-do list to remake their ketubah and get it ready for shipment via another express courier by Monday next week if the package fails to arrive by then. Stupid EMS.

I slept 6 hours and now I'm late sending a bespoke invitation design to a client. Figures.
