Glimpse into THE HOBBIT
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Brings so much back! Now THAT's the nostalgia!
I just watched Peter Jackson's first video blog from the set of THE HOBBIT (10 minutes long). How did I not know about it until now?! But Looking at verything I am SO excited to walk into Middle Earth again. Everyone's back! The sets are back! It's been 12 years (12 YEARS!) since LOTR movies were filmed and it still feels so exciting.
I was still in high school when the first movie came out and it literally changed my life. It also changed cinema for me forever. I can't believe it's been that long. I can't believe I can say it's been 12 years about anything, let alone something that still resonates so strongly with me.
The video also made me a bit sad because I remembered 10 years ago (10!) I wanted to go to New Zealand and try to get a job at Weta. It would have been amazing being a cutter at the customes department or a copier for the props department. A small cog in a fantastical machine. Oh well, I can always dream:)
I teared up and also squeed a bit, I confess. That glimpse into the customes department just about did me in. There also seems to be a hottie playing a dwarf. I have no idea who the cast is besides our LOTR alumni and Martin Freeman, but I look forward to finding out. You know who my vote for Thranduil is;) THE HOBBIT!!!!
