Cross Stitch goodies
Lamiel updated! Chapter 51: Healing Part 1. It's been 4 years and a couple of weeks since the story was first published, and the story still has such a strong hold on me that I haven't noticed the passage of time at all, except between updates which are agonizing! Lamiel sure knows her stuff.
This chapter is a visual masterpiece. Like watching a movie you see the visions Aragorn sees, Legolas's breath rattles in his throat and so does yours, you hold your breath to the rhythm of the sentence, the music picks up and your heart plummets!
You cannot imagine what even a single hour costs me, and I feel helpless before the demon weighing on Legolas just as Aragorn is terrified in the face of its spreading wings, its clutching claws, its focused, oppressive malice.
Elessar cannot heal the damage he has done; and Legolas can't bear Aragorn to heal it. I'm guessing this isn't Legolas's self-sacrifice in action here, but a shame and fear so deeply buried uncovering them will be the ultimate surrender. What if part of the ugliness he fears will be uncovered is his own secret yearnings, his own ugly little secrets?

I'm about to embark on my first serious attempt in cross stitching (a pattern of Peter the Rabbit. Sweet!) Naturally, I needed inspiration (and a little envy) so I bought these:
They'd be perfect to put on my winter coat. They are from a fantastic creative twosome called Pinpals. I've had my eye on those buttons since I bought my sister a pair of their earrings. She got them for our birthday this year, and they look fantastic on her.
I saw this on pinpals' Flickr page, and I want it, it's SO charming!
I highly recommend their products, as a treat to yourself or loved ones. Great quality, and the women behind them are sweet.
