Well
finn_troll come over to meet with Mike and the twins on Tuesday, the talk brought up some house issues I hadn't thought much about (partly because I'm away from the Otaku alot and I've more or less acclimatised to Mike's particular sense of humor since Middle School) and she's probably reconsidering living here.
Also I've recently got a chance to try out brawl since Wyatt and/or Cori weren't busy playing it at the time (or asleep with the controllers in their hands). I'm really liking Sonic among the new characters and may end up using him as my default choice instead of Yoshi. Sonic seems to suit my hit and run tactics quite well though Yoshi still packs a bigger punch (despite being weakened a little in this game).
From what I can tell from my experience of the game it seems to be little more than an expanded version of Melee which is all well and good but it isn't really much of a jump - which is probably a good thing. From what I can tell besides the new characters (such as R.O.B., Snake, Sonic, Et al) and stages the only major thing they did was tweak the old characters for greater balance (ex Mr. Game & Watch is much faster, Kirby is more powerful, et cetera). Some of the new stages are quite innovative to be bordering on taking the attention away from the action such as Wario Ware INC. which seems to have been inspired by alot of Monty Python (complete with a giant foot coming down from the sky at parts) and the Mario Brothers level which is more or less the first level of the Mario Brothers game complete with the enemies and the POW block (which is awesome btw).
Anyways I'm cooking falafel and some assorted Indian stuff (naan, patra, et cetra)- an all vegetarian feast - for the house dinner tonight partly to celebrate Hatsuuma and partly to stick it to the carnivores since the last couple of house meals haven't had a vegetarian option (besides me there are two other vegetarians in the house - Chad & Brian). While at Patel Brother's also got something else interesting for myself 'TopRamen - Curry flavor' haven't had a chance to try it yet but it's got to beat 'Oriental'.
While I'm at it a cooking train wreak:
Well I saw that we had Tombstone Pizzas at Target so I got one of the '"Extra" Cheese' ones and in the spirit of
the Commercials I decided to improve the Pizza a bit.
To start with I decided to make it up like my last bastardization of White Pizza which turned out decently good so I added:
- A bunch of Te Chang Food's Towfu Cake bites (Char Broiled Flavor)
- Some Bits of Mozzarella Cheese
- Feta Cheese
- Some Italian Cheese Blend (not on my White Pizza - this was to add to the sparse "Extra Cheese" base cheese
- Caraway seeds
- Crushed Red Pepper
- Garlic / Sea Salt (very little)
- "Garlic & Herb" Seasoning (very little)
- Italian Seasoning
- Greek Seasoning
- Splash of Olive Oil
- Splash of Lemon Juice
and I got this:
Then I cooked the thing - it originally looked perfect but I had to run off for a second so I put the Oven on the Lowest setting to keep it warm while I was out for a quick bit. The setting was apparently not low enough and it ended up browning the edges but it was still decent (as Frozen Pizzas go):
Then came the all important tasting:
Taste wise it was decent - my additions were good (and Matt also liked it) but I felt it was taken down a good few notches by the crust and the sauce which seemed overly cheap and bland - though that could be just me since Columbus spoils one for good pizza given the large number of independent and awesome small pizzerias around here.
