Tekkon Kinkreet

Yesterday neilworms showed off Studio 4°C's Tekkon Kinkreet to a number of us and I have to say the film is just a visually awesome feast - especially due to some of the interesting style choices for the town mixing designs from multiple cultures such as the Indian-Chinese-Arabian clock tower. It also is extremly similar stylistically to Mindgame (trailer) (which is also extremely awesome - also Mindgame is being played on a background TV in one scene) and has a number of references to animation classics. It's also a great film to watch in a group... Couple of quotes:

"Chuck's surfing /b/ while watching highbrow intellectual Anime... I think Chuck's in heaven"

A Very Silent Night - a Christmas number one in New Zealand - raised money for the country's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A spokesman admitted he did not know how the CD - recorded at a frequency inaudible to humans - sounded to dogs... He said the reaction from listeners had been varied. "The most violent one was a dog that physically attacked the radio when it was played and went quite berserk and totally destroyed it.
