I am ecstatic! While checking something at
Foxtrot's Collection of Kitsune Lore, I noticed an update:
Welcome to 2005! Yet another update! A good friend of mine has had the original Kitsune book converted to PDF format for me. The zip file is about 45 megs, but has two versions of the book. If you want to download it, the link is here:
The Kitsune PDF! If this does not work, please e-mail me so I can try to fix this! My normal site can not handle the file size, so I had to place it somewhere else.
That book in question is Kiyosho Nozaki's Kitsune: Japan's Fox of Mystery, Romance and Humor, one of the best sources ever written on Japanese Fox Mythology in the English language! Previously, I had only been able to read the few chapters available on
The Kitsune Page.
I tried looking for this book before but it's rare, hard to find, and what copies there are for sale are expensive. This is going to be a great boon for my Planned Panel on East Asian Fox Mythology at
Anime Punch '06.
The file is 45 megs zipped and contains two versions... One Imaged and one Texted and searchable! Someone went to a lot of trouble, and they have my and others' thanks.
