This is going to be a sort of hodge podge post since I have several shorter things to talk about. For instance, I completely forgot to mention on this journal that I got a proof copy of my book last week! If you haven't checked out the blog post on my website yet, here's the link:
nrwick.com. I have a couple pictures of the copy posted too. It's so amazing! I did end up having to change a bunch of things, take care of some typos and tweak a couple text blocks here and there, so I will be getting another proof sometime this week.
I just hope it's finished, because I can't really afford to keep buying proof copies. XD Especially since I have to get my hands on three copies in order to send to giveaway winners. I'm hosting
a giveaway for print copies of Land of No Angels on GoodReads. It's really exciting since there are already over 560 people entered to win and because of the giveaway, 107 people have placed my book on their To-Read list. It's pretty awesome!
Another tidbit of news is that I am finally, officially, finished with school. My final grade is in, everything went very smooth. I ended up having a 3.75 gpa, which is okay but mildly disappointing. It was that single B that brought it down. Out of 11 classes, I got one B and the rest A or A-. The teacher was a jerk and an idiot, but what can you do? Nothing really, so I'll live. Now, I just have to wait for the quarter to officially end and I will be able to get my diploma. I've been in school a lot and for a long time, but I really want to get my PhD. Husband is not having it though. Not that we could afford it, but still.
Let's see... In the month of May, I outlined two books. Initially, I had intended on getting started with a new book, a possible stand alone young adult novel, but I was so inspired suddenly that I worked on the sequel to Land of No Angels. I'm starting a challenge for myself to help me stay focused on writing the first draft by trying to write 75,000 words in 45 days. I've got the word count spreadsheet all set to go and it's completely doable. It would be great to have this second book ready for a November publishing date. I just hope the rest of my life works its self out before then.
Okay, so now I've got a mini goal list that I will share with you.
+Write 1,667 words of LoNS every day for 45 days
+Read for 2-4 hours a day, every day
+Finish writing 2 Blog Posts
