Johnny Gans on how life is...

I'm @ the library trying to type all this out in the less-than-an-hour they give me to do so...

Since I last wrote here, I've gotten a place of my own, paid the first month's rent (almost LATE due to the job waiting til JUST THEN to do the paychecks RIGHT.) and settled in to nest.
It's empty. I need furniture and until just the other day I was sleeping on the kitchen floor near the heater, but hey, it's MINE MINE MINE!!
Sideswhich, hirtzenocker gave me her loveseat that she wasn't using, so now I actually have something to park my butt on. She also gave me some of her old cooking utensils. Slowly but surely, my place is starting to look lived in.

I've started a comic, and this one I feel really good about sticking with. I have 45 pen-sketch-slash-scripts drawn out, and word-scripts up to 49, but the last 4 need a bit of fine tuning. I may just save them for later in the storyline. I don't even have a name for it yet. I have a name from one of my older comic attempts, but, I don't like reusing old names. They come with baggage. Not unlike going back to an old lover.
Just today, I got out the good paper and started drawing the initial sketches and figures for the real deal. I think I am going to go the way of Questionable Content, and draw out backgrounds to use and re-use of all the recurring locales, and just draw in the figures on regular paper.
I've shown it to a few folks around when I scribbled out strip 16, and gotten a few laughs. I'm satisfied with it. This time I won't let anyone discourage me, or take it away from me.
1 or 2 folks whose opinions I once respected have declined to look at it, which is just as well. They seem to be for the most part ignoring me lately, but I don't care. Fuck 'em, I'm too happy.

Between the new place and the new strip, I am doing well. There are a couple of concerns with health and money, but nothing that can't be taken care of with a bit of time, attention and cash.
crazitalk expressed an interest in selling me his old comp if his taxes work out. If so, good. That'll give me something to occupy my time and attention until I can afford a new one of my own, which, in and of itself shouldn't take long.
Maybe I can get my old scanner back from pussinboots and get back to Photoshopping my comic.
After that, I am gonna need a TV and cable. Screw this non-entertainment crap. Heroes may be back soon, and I wanna be READY!!

On Fat Tuesday, the Bellingham Street Band wandered into my job, Casa Que Pasa, playing "Tequila". I got to do the Pee-Wee Herman dance. It was grand!

My friend Jesse brought back some of the stuff I left with him when I moved outta my old place to live in Oklahoma. Lots of my old drawings and comics. My 12 inch Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man... Yesterday was a good day!

Now, I'm gonna go hang with duffy61 and watch Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. First, i gotta deposit the 'V for Vendetta' poster that patlandness gave me at home, and take care of my left leg. (Yes, I scratched off the back of my leg again. This hasn't happened this bad in about 4 years, I think. Usually, this is an autumn condition, where my skin gets DUST-DRY and itchy. I just thank the Powers That Be that it isn't BOTH legs anymore.)

L8R Cadets!

comic strip, posters, new apartment, decoration, furniture, good days, my stuff
