I've never been a fan of the star-crossed lovers trope, but I do like character-driven conflict. And now that Kol is a vampire again, driven to feed and kill, there will be conflict a-plenty to be had.

I think being the least powerful supe in New Orleans was the biggest factor in the changes in his behaviour and perceptions- he had to change to survive. And I love how much extra depth it's given him, that it's enabled him to become someone trustworthy who respects and cares for others.

Yes. This is something I always enjoy watching: having power stripped away and watching how the characters cope. I think it's fascinating that Kol was able to learn empathy. And now that he has his power back, will he be able to hang onto that empathy?

I love character based conflict too! I don't find vampire = driven to feed and kill something that is a given on the show, though? Like has Josh ever killed anyone? Are any of the vamps on TO or TVD out of control unless they are newly turned, Rippers or Switched Off? (Or Kol. LOL)

Yessss! I loved his S2 arc, and how we can see him taking a step back into his old MO now that he can act with impunity again. I feel so bad for Davina.
