Damn, been a while since I posted on this thing, but I do still read what my friends have to say...
I have been working pretty steady on
Raginpit Magazine, writing articles and reviews, and doing the scene news report. I need a new name for that, because "Scene Report" sounds kinda gay. I just wish more bands would send me information, as I sound like a bitch begging for it on myspace. I don't want to sound like that, it's just that I try to help bands out by doing this, and the least they could do is drop me a quick note letting me know what's going on. At times, I've wanted to give up, because it seems like nobody gives a shit. I don't know if it's just because bands aren't seeing the bulletins or what, but I've even posted comments on their pages, and I still don't get much to write about. OK, enough whining...
Anyways, I'm getting more and more involved with the business and organizational part of the webzine, rather than just being a writer. I haven't been jamming with anyone lately but still want to be involved in music, and since writing is one of my passions, I decided to jump in with both feet and help build a great resource for bands. I just hope they take advantage of it...
Family-wise, things are pretty much the same. Lisa and I just celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. We've come a long way since one year ago, and are doing just great. My son is a helluva baseball player and is now playing winter ball, AA minors. My ex-wife told me the coaches were talking about him and didn't know she was his mom, and they said "Cordell is a natural, and he's got some skates too!" Then at last practice, one of the coaches came up and introduced himself to me and commented that he wished all the boys had the level of work ethic Cordell has, which made me a very proud daddy. He lives and breathes baseball, and wants to play in the majors. I told him not to let anyone tell him he can't and I'd do all within my power to help him get there. He just started third grade, too. Man, it seems like yesterday I was holding him in the palm of my hand.
*sigh* Is it 4:00 yet?
