I figured I may as well give a quick update on what's been going on over the last few weeks before I bail. It's almost 4:00! lol
Well, Lisa and I have been doing great. We hardly fight much anymore, and when we do, it's still over stupid shit and we've been doing really good at communicating so it gets squashed real quick. It's seriously like we're dating again. It's very refreshing considering everything that went down over the summer. We're slowly getting our house the way we want it, too.
Now for the REALLY great news:
I had booked my son an airline ticket to come home for xmas December 18th-31st, which will be the first time I get to see him since July 21st when I put him on an airplane for Texas. But last night, I got the news that my ex-wife is moving back ASAP. She and a bunch of other people got laid off from the company she worked for, and she can't find another job. Between that and the fact that Cordell misses me so much, he has LITERALLY been sick (throwing up, but no fever or anything, obviously stress), she decided it was best to just move back. My mother went to visit a couple weeks ago and stayed with them one night and had some good conversations with her that I guess helped out in the decision. Also, my mom got a chance to talk to my son and found out how he really feels about the whole situation. He told her he missed me and wants to move back, and my mom told him she understood and that he would miss his mom the same way he misses me...and his answer was "No, I wouldn't grandma". That kind of sucks, but made me feel good that he really does want to be with me. Also, I guess my ex told my mom that one day recently they were walking to their apartment and saw a dad throwing a football with his sons, and Cordell got all upset and said "that's what me and daddy used to do." He obviosuly hates it in Texas...I don't blame him, I hated it there too when I've gone to visit family.
My ex told me last night that her parents flew out there this week for Thanksgiving, but with the intention of trying to convince her to move back for my sake and the sake of the rest of the family. But she had already made the decision to do so.
So when my son flies here on the 18th, he won't be going back. She and her other son are going to pack up and drive back (supposedly) as soon as Cordell leaves for California. He will start the second half of his school year here in Rocklin.
I am so stoked right now!
