Happy Winter Solstice
So, J has been bugging me about updating my LJ... which is odd since he *lives* with me and therefore should already know what's going on in my head. Eh.
I'm a total and absolute failure, at least with this homemade Christmas piece. My hands have cuts all over them, my home is in disarray, and last night I sobbed because my dough wouldn't roll. Sewing projects have been put aside until the New Year. Oh well, I gotta hit the mall and get someting for GH, CH, JH, ER, and both Dads - actually, two gifts for mine, one for his, since my Dad's birthday is the 23rd. I'm thinking some bling bling for the the girls (ok, some cheap bling, I'm one who prefers spending on birthdays anyway), for JH I'm not sure - I was thinking something drum related, since he's a drummer, but I'm thinking that perhaps instead some Family Guy or such DVDs would be better. Plus, heck, I make out better with that gift, in case of family ugliness. Or giant naps. I'm not sure why, but J's family sort of naps together a lot. Giant pile of white flesh. ER is 7, but developmentally disabled, so gifting to him is harder - I mean, I don't want to get him an Ages 1-3 toy or something. I'm thinking stuffed animal, or something like that. As for the Dads, that's anyone's guess. Probably whatever crud that's priced at the right level.
As for friends, well, at least those gifts are going well. Gingerbread, sugar cookies sandwiching a layer of dark chocolate ganache, several flavors of truffles, popcorn balls (these were J's idea), and possibly two other things - either something cranberry or some spiced nuts. I figure if I two day them tommorrow they should get to people in time.
Sunday sucked - I had a bit of an accident, which was annoyingly expensive, of course. Tires and alignment only, though, so I'm lucky. Unfortunately, it shot a whole present buying and making day.
I'm just trying my level best to get out of here as soon as possible, and get home to get to work.
