Now that I'm starting to get ready for law school, I'm also looking towards what other degree to get. Originally, the plan was a MBA along with the JD. But now that everyone and their uncle has an MBA, I'm wondering if that's really worth it.
MBA - Generic MBA, hopefully with a finance type focus. Pretty run of the mill.
MA/MS in Economics - The cirriculum would be more theoretical and more focused on the academic, as well the math/finance that I find interesting. I think it would be fascinating to study, and of course
PhD in Economics or Business Administration - Same as above, but with a cooler hood. I was thinking I could finish the thesis while working. No desire to teach or anything.
Personally, I'm leaning towards a PhD in econ along with my JD, but that's because I want to write a book and be able to call myself "Nina Basu, JD, PhD". It might give me some credibility :) Plus according to the financial aid lady, she can most easily find the money for this option.
