The AI in Catan on Xbox Live Arcade cheats, blatantly and openly. Especially on Hard, it knows what dev cards you have in your hand and uses that knowledge against you, nine times out of ten it rolls numbers that only benefit the AI players, if you end your turn with more than 7 cards in your hand the bandit WILL be rolled, every time, if there is more than one they will gang up on you and deliberately place settlements to block you in so you can't even expand, etc, etc, etc.
There is an achievement to with a game against three Hard AI players, and I'm honestly not sure how this is even POSSIBLE. I started a game with two wood spots (an 8 and a 5) and two brick spots (a 6 and a 3) and a brick port, and ended the game with 2 victory points. I never even got longest road even once.
Then again, I was never really any good at Catan, so it could just be me.
