Personality:
Ed loves to be doing something; talking, working, watching people - teasing them... As long as he's active he's happy. He's a natural leader in the sense that he doesn't overstep his boundaries and takes the time to get to know people rather than just boss them around. Ed's also a very competive person, so you can imagine that when he's doing something he wants to be the best at it and puts alot of effort into it (if he finds it worth while).
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Magical: He's very good at wandwork. It's not only natural but also something that he's worked hard at being the best at. He's a very hands-on type of guy and learns and does along that route. Added to that is the fact that he loves doing it which only strengthens him more.
Personality: Edward is very charismatic and amiable. He has always made friends easily, winning them over with a smile and a wink. He cares about the people he works with and his friends and they can see that in how he teases them and gives them nicknames.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality:
Magical: Book subjects were never really the best with him. He's alright at potions but prefers to let others do them for him (since if he's not good at something he doesn't like people to know.
Personality: Ed gets very edgy in confined spaces. He didn't mind Hogwarts except when he was in classrooms where he was reminded how small it was. He also doesn't really listen to other people even if they are close to him. Once his mind is made up it's made up and not much will ever change it. This doesn't help him because he also doesn't like to see his friends sad, if they are depressed he wants to fix it.
Fears: Friends and Family dying - it's happened once and it's something he barely got through. If it was Lynn or Jul he would probably self-destruct.
History:
Edward was born in Hawaii and grew up there until he was 13 and recieved an invitation to attend an American Magical Highschool. He had to leave his family and attended school there where he played quidditch and was the star jock of the school. Wanting to challenge himself further he applied for the foreign exchange program for his Junior and Senior year and moved to Hogwarts where he was sorted into Gryffindor. He soon became quite popular in his house but was met with much disdain from purebloods during this tumultuous time. In his first year Edward met Lynn, a fellow muggleborn one year younger than him, and realized he wanted to stay and become an Auror with her.
They went through training and got married soon after. They enjoyed their time as aurors, hanging out with colleagues and becoming quite a tight knit group. One fateful day one of his friends went out on a mission alone without waiting for backup. It was an ambush and she died right before him and others could arrive. After that Lynn couldn't handle being an Auror anymore and pleaded for him to quit with her, especially after finding out she was pregnant. Not being able to say no to her but not being able to give up on the fight, Ed took a easier job as an Obliviator while Lynn left all together. They moved back to Lynn's hometown where they raised their daughter like a muggle and kept secret his work life.
Soon his daughter started showing signs of magical abilities and Lynn came to him pleading with him to spare her of that life. He was personally thrilled but relented and for the next 11 years hid all signs of magic from their daughter by using obliviate charms on her. When she was accepted to Hogwarts Ed put his foot down and said the choice was Jul's to make.
As the years have progressed Ed has found ways to get back into his old life. This has only worsened the growing rift between him and Lynn since that day their friend died.

Ed bit his lip and watched Lynn do the familiar sigh that she did right before she started lecturing him, which meant that they were going to fight. Which meant that they wouldn't talk for probably a week afterwards and then forget that it ever happened just so that they could be normal again. He cut her off, wanting to get the first word on the matter, not the smartest move but he never was the smart one around her. "I'm not quitting the ministry. It's not something I can just forget ever happened like you did Lynn. I just...I transferred departments isn't that enough for you?"
