Personality: Barrett is a quiet boy, he doesn't appear as a leader and will let others take the reins as long as he agrees with them.... you know what? this is a ridiculous question because I'm about to go ahead in the next part and write it out again... wtf? why is the personality question twice like this? who approved this crap?
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Magical: Best at Herbology, Potions, and CoMC.
Good at DADA and Charms and Transfiguration.
Really enjoys to fly.
Barrett likes any subject where he is doing and not just talking about it. He can't learn just by hearing about something, or reading it. His way of learning is to do. Theory is not something he's good at, anytime in class when he's encouraged to do something he's happy.
Personality: Barrett is not a very loud person, in fact he barely talks, he's more a person of action, he's no genius, but he's no rock either, he gets by. Barrett tends to watch everything that goes on around him. He's the quiet guy, because of his size he tends to intimidate with that silence as well. When he makes friends he's loyal to them to the end, if that means being the 'muscle' for whatever mess a friend gets themselves into then fine. Barrett doesn't mind the role as he has a bit of a wild side, and a little violence has -never- hurt him. Barrett has odd sense of honour and justice, his ethics are his own, but he sticks to what he believes in and he doesn't cave under peer pressure or when the going gets tough. He will make his opinions known if he feels they are important to what is going on, but most of the time he does his own thing. Barrett also tends to have a secret 'hero' complex and has without thought helped out or saved someone. He's especially caring for creatures and plants and often nurses both back to health. he's extremely concious of the needs of animals and plants.

He completely flunked out of History of Magic, and Astrology, he had tried Divination but his OWL scores reflected his distaste for it.

Barrett can be extremely rash in his decisions, he tends to act first and ask questions later! Sometimes Barrett will get caught up in something, such as taking care of a plant or animal that he'll ignore everything else around him because he's so focused on what he believes is most important. Barrett has a hard time communicating and expressing himself, most often taking a route of action for that.

History: Barrett would have grown up in Africa in a wizarding community called Banusha, the community most often trains their children themselves to become African shamen. Barretts father however fell in love with a english witch (Elaina Rizzo) while travelling and moved to England to be with her, 2 years later they had Monique, then 2 years after that Jerome, 1 year later Natisha, and 4 years later Barrett.
Barrett grew up a typical english boy, his family lived in Wizarding neighbourhoods. Being the youngest meant he was picked on a lot by his older siblings, his age difference didn't help matters. Barrett was picked on when he was very young by neighbourhood bullies because of his size, he used to be pudgy, but began exercising the year before he went to hogwarts and by the time he was in his 3rd year he was showing signs of strength and muscle, he keeps up this exercise even today. Barrett tended to be more of a loner as a child and thus began his love of animals and plants, they didn't pick on him. Because he didn't interact much with other children he spent a lot of time able to forge his own opinions and idea's without the mess of peer pressure, and they were well cemented before he did finally start making friends.
Barrett didn't have to worry about hand-me-downs or going without, his family was pretty well off. His father had mines in Africa that held precious stones which could be used for magical items. Barrett grew up learning the business but wasn't interested. He spent his time growing plants or helping sick animals, any friends he made before hogwarts he made through his hobbies.
When Barrett arrived at Hogwarts he was faced with the possibility of many friends. He became friends with Zak Reso almost immediately because the boy just couldn't stop getting himself in trouble, made Barrett feel responsible for him as they were dorm-mates. Barrett is Zak's shadow through good and bad times, although he has a strong, extremly strong -no touching- policy. which he will enforce with knuckles.
Barrett's closeness with animals drew him into the idea of becoming an Animagus and thirsting for knowledge and the ability he actually read books on the subject, in his 4th year he began attempting (on his own) to learn the craft, he did not show any signs or ability until his fifth year, and at that time approached the professor of Transfiguration and registered as being in training with the Ministry of Magic.
Physical Description: At the least, provide base details of build, height, eye/hair colour, and complexion. Barrett is tall (6 foot 4 inches), dark (he's half african) and big, (he's all muscle and bulk thanks to a lot of working out), he tends to shave his hair because otherwise he sports tightly curled hair like many africans, his eyes are a dark, dark brown. He has a clear complexion and is not marred by scars on his face. His hands do have scars on them from all the work he does with his hands (animals, plants etc)

Family: Barrett is closest to his sister Natisha who was also a Gryffindor (Jerome and Monique were both Ravenclaws like his mom), She was the one to encourage him to work out if he was unhappy with how he looked. Barrett concentrated on the potion before him, watching as he carefully stirred it three times clock-wise then once counter-clock-wise repeating the pattern six times before adding in the ground claw of a dragon, watching as the liquid turned a dark purple, he quickly stepped back as a bubble formed on it's surface growing larger and larger, and then he quickly took the quill in his hand, turning his head slightly jabbed at it.

purple bit of liquid everywhere, but not important he quickly took to stirring the cauldron again, 4 times counter clock-wise, 2 times clock-wise, 3 counter-clock, 1 clock-wise and then add the gillyweed, it melted away and he stirred 7 times counter-clockwise then 7 clock-wise and stepped back.
He gave a self-satisfied grunt, then quickly took a small dipper and poured the potion into a vial for grading. he had done a fine job, he knew he had, he had worked hard on the potion and it was just the right shade of orange.
Class done he handed in his assignment with the poorly scrawled assignment that went with it, he headed out the door and jogged down the hall only to find Longshore in his way, mouthing off to someone again, a quick glance, no professors, and the boy seemed to be bothering some girls, so a pause, tap on the shoulder, watching Lucas turn around, smiling a full set of white teeth and before longshore could say whatever stupid thing he would say barrett popped him in the mouth with a fist.
"Leave the girls alone" he grunted out before continuing on his way, knowing Longshore was too busy howling to think of a curse.
