Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Magical -- Maggie's magical strengths lay largely in subjects that are more focused on memorization and book work, particularly History of Magic and Ancient Runes. She also excels at Potions, relishing in following instructions exactly. On subjects with wandwork, she studies extra hard to make up her marks on the written portions on exams. She's also quite good at Quidditch, which she takes great pride in, being one of the only strictly magical things she's quite good at.
Personality -- Maggie is extremely loyal to and protective of her friends. She'd go to the extreme to defend them. She's very determined, and if she starts a project she's sure to finish it. She cares deeply about other people, and is almost motherly in her tendancies towards them. She wants to make sure that they stay safe and happy, and will go to great lengths to ensure that. In doing that, she sometimes has had to lie to them -- She's always up for some good fun, and pranks. She's outgoing and seeks adventure.

Magical -- Maggie does poorly at any magic involving wand-work, particularly Charms and DADA. It'll take her repeated efforts to get anywhere close to mastering any of the things she needs to cover in these classes.
Personality -- Maggie is extremely emotional. She's quick to anger, quick to tears, and quick to judgements. She's extremely discriminatory against elitist purebloods, which also makes her pretty hypocritical. Maggie will rarely make the effort to get to know someone when her first judgement of them was negative, and she doesn't see the need to make pleasantries with people she doesn't care about. She'll also hold grudges, even after the reason for the fight, etc. is completely outdated. She keeps things from other people, often for no good reason, and it really could end up hurting people.
Fears: With the war, Maggie is particularly worried about her friends in danger. She feels like her father and brother are safe at home, but her second family -- her friends -- especially the ones who live in the Wizarding world (*cough* Ty *cough*) are in danger. She doesn't like dark places, because they take so much control out of the situation. She's afraid of living up to the stereotypes of being Muggleborn, particularly because of her lack of ability with wand work (and thus, spends a lot of time in the library to counteract that.)
History: Maggie was born in Dublin, Ireland. Her parents used to be quite well off, but shortly before Maggie was born, her dad screwed up, the family finances went down the drain, and the Downeys were reduced to living in a small apartment with (eventually) two small children. Growing up, Maggie was good friends with zak_reso, and the two caused lots of mischeif in their building. Over time, her mother and father had increasingly intense fights, and her mother was away frequently, and harsh with her family. WHen Maggie was nine, her mother left after one fight and never came back, having run away with (and shortly after married) another man of a higher class. Within a year, Maggie, her dad and Thomas had moved to Crookhaven, West Cork, Ireland, where her dad fishes for a living. When Maggie received her Hogwarts letter, her father was very against it, and it was only really at her mother's insistance that she went, a fact that Maggie does not like to admit. During her years at Hogwarts, she's become BFFs with jul_agate, dated romeo_remy and is now dating master_tybalt, among many other adventures.
