Magically, Ty has strength for DADA and Charms-those are the two classes he finds to be most useful, so he pays a bit more attention and focuses on them more than others. His Transfiguration scores are enough for him to get by without a lot of extra help. Basically? He’s another wandwork person.
Ty’s an all around good guy. For the most part? Not a mean or malicious bone in his body. He’s naturally very happy, friendly, and outgoing-the sort of guy most people would like to be around. He very much fits the typical Gryffindor personality, and it shows in everything he says/does.

Oh, his class weaknesses. First off? Herbology. He has no luck whatsoever with plants and is almost certain to kill them the second he approaches them. He knows this and, as soon as possible, got rid of the class, and avoids the greenhouses as much as humanly possible. Far too many embarrassing moments linger there.
He also pretty much fails at any class that involves a lot of reading/logic. History of Magic? Arithmancy? Ha. He decided to leave those far behind him as soon as he could. He finds them interesting, yes, but nothing worth continuing to study.
Like every classic hero, Ty’s greatest weakness? His heart. He’s willing to sacrifice anything and everything for those he cares about. For them? It’s easy to manipulate Ty into doing just about anything, as their safety and well-being is his number one concern.
He also takes criticism and failure very personally and it takes a lot of help and support for him to THINK about getting back to being himself again.
Fears:
Ty… well, he doesn’t have very many fears, for whatever reason. He’s a risk and thrill seeker and loves that sort of thing. It takes a lot to get him actually AFRAID.
But, he does have this thing where he doesn’t like spiders. They don’t scare him, but they bother him to the point that he can’t really be around them. What a strange boy.
Ty also suffers from an inferiority complex-he never feels like anything he does is good enough. Ever. Nor does he feel like he deserves someone like Maggie. The poor thing can’t ‘live up’ to other guys in school and he knows it. And thus? He kinda takes a personal beating.
History:
Growing up, Tybalt Raynard was a very active child. He was always involved with a sport of some sort, outdoors playing, running around, etc. He never really took the time to sit still, something that drove his loving mother batty. He never meant harm, really. He just couldn’t stay still. He was a bundle of energy that couldn’t be confined to his house.
Ty never really knew his father, as he took off just after Ty was born. After all, why would an upstanding Pureblood be associated with a mudblood and her offspring? It wouldn’t do well for most to know that sort of thing, so he pretty much disappeared from the family. This left Ty without real inspiration for a ‘father figure, and caused him to be firm in his belief to never be like that.
At school, he immediately took to Defense Against the Dark Arts, fascinated by how it could work both for good and evil. Of course, most subjects existed that way, but not to the darkness of that class. It was almost a morbid fascination, really, and it was the only class he threw himself into so much.
Eventually, he picked up Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, and Divination…. Only to drop them as soon as possible, seeing as he failed at them.
In his third year, he joined the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and eventually went on to become Captain, something that he’s very proud of.

Tybalt is tall, but most certainly not to be called lanky. Though he is slightly muscular, there are definitely others that are built sturdier than he is. He stands at a total of six feet and weighs in around 170 lbs depending on the day. His hair is a dark shade of brown and he has hazel eyes that have the slightest flecks of green in them. He’s a bit of a pretty boy too, but he doesn’t really pay that much attention to his looks. All in all, Tybalt is a pretty good-lookin' guy.

William MacIntyre: Ty’s uncle and the current Potions Professor, Mac’s… well, a bit insane. He provided Ty a LOT of amusement growing up, though, and acted as a ‘stand in’ father figure to the young boy. Despite all his protests, moaning, groaning, and whining, Ty ADORES his uncle. Really. He just scares him sometimes.
Patrick Raynard: very much the Pureblood elitist, Patrick… well, pretty much ditched the family as soon as he found out Lucy’s true bloodline. After that? He never played much of a part in his son’s life. Elitist, rich, and a dark lord supporter, he’s very much the embodiment of how most view purebloods.
Lucy Raynard: Ty’s beloved mother. He’s very much a mother’s boy and doesn’t bother to hide it. He admires her for her strength and courage, and wishes he could do something to make her happier.
Uncle Mac was born in 1949. Lucy was born in 1960. Patrick was born in 1951. Lucy had Ty when she was 27, and Patrick was 36.

Jul Agate: Maggie’s best friend, Jul was introduced to Ty not long after he met the other girl. They quickly bonded as well, and Ty completely adores her. Jul’s the little sister he lacks and he certainly treats her as such. He’s quite protective of her and wary of the boys she’s interested in. Plus, she’s on his side when it comes to Maggie’s INSANE studying habits.
Vincent Monroe: Ty’s BFF since first year, Ty’s help Vincent out quite a bit over the years. Though he’s pretty lame himself, he’s not NEARLY as bad or awkward as Vincent-and thus, he considers it part of his ‘duty’ to help his friend out as often as possible. It’s an odd match, but it works well for whatever reason.
Bryant Sawyer: Ty’s NON-LAME BFF and house buddy. In the past, Ty was an outgoing flirt (pre-Maggie dating, of course) and Bryant Sawyer was his partner in crime. That was a silly thought, so he tried to think of other things that he could do. Fly? Nah. He did enough of that in practice and sure, he loved it, but he wasn’t in the mood to get up. What else was there? Maybe he could go find Vincent? They were best mates, after all, and he found himself worrying about his friend quite a bit. He’d gotten into a lot of fights this year and Ty hadn’t been around to help….
He sighed a little as he shrunk into his chair. So. Assuming Maggie was off studying, he’d be able to run off and hopefully find a non-beaten up Vincent. Ty stood and shook his shaggy brown hair from his face before making his way to the door of the common room.
