EXTENDED APPLICATION -- PLEASE DO AT LEAST A PARAGRAPH ON EACH OF THESE, UNLESS THEY ARE STATED TO BE OPTIONAL
Personality: Elodie loves to read and learn about anything she can get her hands on. She believes in what she sees and reads, not in imaginary fly-away things, but the truth. Books give her an opening to the inner workings of things, which is really what intrigues her. She likes to know how things are put together and why and how this one thing can cause everything else to fall in place. She knows how to hide her feelings, and can often appear like nothing’s wrong when something really is. This mask is usually seen through by her extremely close friends, but usually it’s almost perfection. Even though she may not be going to the parties as often as before, she still has that sort of mentality of amusing herself. During class or elsewhere she’s able to be a good observer and careful watcher of the things around her. But even though she’s a good observer, she can’t see what’s in front of her very well. Because of this things, such as boys, have to be very straight forward, otherwise she has no clue. She doesn’t do the random snogging thing. If she kisses someone, they’re going out and there’s nothing else to it in her mind. Elodie can be sarcastic at times and very blunt, but it’s when it’s needed. She won’t go trying to make someone laugh if they clearly don’t want to, and usually she’ll leave that person to their own miserable ways. Her quick wit and amused smile aren’t very far behind her.
Strengths: Both magical and personality: She’s an avid learner which makes her a very good student, especially at the subjects that she has an interest in. Her favorite classes are Potions and Arithmancy, but that doesn’t mean that she’s not successful in her other classes. She does well in her other classes as well, it’s just these are better. Since she’s learned the art of socializing, she knows how to talk to people and work with them.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality: Her inability to see what’s directly in front of her, especially when it deals with her, causes her to lose things sometimes. Also, she can be a tad impatient if something does not interest her, and will go off to find other things to do if she has no pressing demands on her. Even though she’s very studious, sometimes the technical aspects can get away from her and cause her to have to work extra hard. With the help of other students she can barely get by Transfiguration. Of course, she once tried to take Divination, but that turned rotten as she became convinced that it was all just hog wash and eventually dropped it all together.
Fears: Elodie fears becoming someone like her mother. She does not want to end up going to people’s houses for ‘tea’ and gossiping about the latest fashions and the next greatest scandal. She also has an absolute fear of corsets, from when she was little and fainted because it was too tight. It scarred her and she will never wear one as long as she can help it.
History: Elodie was born on November 22nd, 1986 to her parents (who at the time were 21 and 29) in Toulouse, France. A little less than a year after she was born, her parents packed their belongings and moved to just outside of Paris, France where her Grandmother lived. This move helped Gregoire's career and he quickly moved up in the ministry, which greatly pleased his wife. Throughout her childhood, Elodie was left with her Grandmother due to her parents constant "social obligations".
She became very independent, often wandering outside to climb a tree and look at anything that interested her that day. But that wasn't her most important form of entertainment. At the tender age of 4, just when she was starting to learn how to read, her Grandmother introduced her to her own personal library. From that day forward Elodie was enthralled with it, and as she grew as a more experienced reader so did her book selection. Elodie wanted to know everything and would grab a random book and sit down, either inside or outside, and read for hours on end. This pleased her Grandmother, who was a great lover of books herself, and often snuck her favorites (little novels) under Elodie's pillow for her to read at night.
Once in a while, as a young child, she was brought to holiday social parties and paraded around by her parents. She quickly understood the importance of being that trophy daughter and learned the art of looking adorable and being polite. That was why, when she turned 6, her mother decided that Elodie should start attending more parties, which led to her being given lessons on how to eat properly, address people, and what not to do. Elodie absolutely detested these lessons because it meant that she had less time to read and play. But she didn't let her mother know about these feelings and quickly learned all that her mother wanted her to know. After that point, she was swept away to almost every party her mother attended. She hated them, knowing how fake everyone was, but amused herself by seeing how much information she could get from people by being polite, cute and social, which was surprisingly a lot.
At the age of 9, her family moved to England, partially for her father's job and partially so that Elodie could learn the customs of the British before going to Hogwarts. Just as in France, she went constantly to parties, once again hating them but counting the number of people who were drunk, or the ones who "mysteriously left together", or how many people she could talk to and for how long.
When she got her Hogwarts letter at 11, she was incredibly grateful and flourished once she went there. She loved her classes, which gave her an more areas of study to learn about, but that doesn't mean she was a bookworm. In fact she was social and could quickly make friends because of the skills she had honed at the many parties she had been forced to go to.
In her second year, her parents had her little brother Etienne who quickly became her baby. She absolutely adores him, but her mother is eager to get him into the social circles and Elodie wants none of that to spoil his childhood. Elodie has managed every excuse to keep him from them so far, but it won't last for long.
Physical Description: At the least, provide base details of build, height, eye/hair color, and complexion. Elodie has long straight brown hair that rests a couple inches below her shoulder that compliments her brown eyes and oval face. She stays thin from her picky eating and her work ethic, that will take her away from eating sometimes, so she has to quickly grab a bite to eat from the kitchen. Her fair complexion doesn’t do well in the sun, and she must put on lotion otherwise she can turn red from even going outside on an overcast day. She stands at about 5’6”.
Significant Relationships:
Family: Optional: Grandmere (Marcelle-Julie Chantal Dupois) basically raised Elodie and now her little brother. Since her father was usually working or out of the country, and her mother entertaining guests, visiting her father, or going to extravagant parties, they left both in the care of Aurore-Eloise, whom they call Grandmere
Friends: Optional:
Other: Optional:

Nimbus (she’s actually pretty good at Quidditch, but rarely actually takes time to go out and practice. in the case that she does though, her parents made sure that she had the best kind available so as to not hurt her, or more importantly the family’s, status)

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE -- PLEASE ENSURE THAT THIS IS IN THIRD PERSON NARRATIVE POINT OF VIEW
Elodie sat on the plush violet chair, her legs tucked under her leaning onto the side while entranced in the book at hand. Her white silk dress moved as she anxiously turned a page and shifted in her seat, causing the fabric to bunch where her legs were. The curls of her hair were pulled back into an elegant twist, allowing a few to escape and work their way towards the frame of her face.
“Elodie!” A gentle tap on her door, made her eyes jump to it as she emitted a sigh. “Elodie, hurry or we’ll miss our entrance.”
Regretfully she turned the corner of the page and then set it down on the table next to her. It really did not matter to her whether they missed their entrance, but mother always gets what she wants. She unfolded her legs from under her and absentmindedly brushed the dress so that it looked presentable. Grabbing her bag from a chair on the way out, she glanced in a mirror and made sure that her appearance was flawless before gracing her face with a pleasant smile and opening the door.
“Coming Mama.”
