Personality:
Max is a happy-go-lucky boy. He makes friends quickly with his confident demeanor and charming smile. He's energetic to the point of hyperactivity at times, especially if given his favorite candy (chocolate frogs). He has a passion for all living creatures and his antics never involve cruelty towards them. If given the choice, he'd be playing outside at all times - even in inclement weather.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
-He has a knack for Herbology and Charms. He'll probably be decent at Transfiguration. His love for animals also bodes well for future Care of Magical Creatures classes.
-Max can get along with anyone: he's open-minded, nonjudgmental, fun to be around, and not one to dwell on drama. He'd probably be pretty popular if I played him more. He loves to laugh and loves to entertain others.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality:
-He struggles mightily with Defense Against the Dark Arts and History of Magic. Spells requiring lots of memorization or extreme concentration may pose a problem for him.
-He's not very scholarly; he'd rather run around outside than be stuck inside with his nose in a book. He doesn't think twice about copying homework off his friends either (he's found that Ravenclaws are most helpful for that). He often speaks (or laughs) before thinking, which may make him seem tactless or callous, but in truth he does appreciate the feelings of others. Older, more serious students may find him more annoying than amusing.
Fears: He's pretty fearless, actually. Even the recent Death Eater attacks at Hogwarts haven't rattled him too much. He's "all boy" so he's not afraid of dragons, spiders, etc. though should some large animal pose a threat to him he'd be scared. He's not afraid of death or his loved ones dying because he's never experienced had any personal experience with death. It's a remote concept to him. ((If he needs to have a good solid fear, let me know - I could make up something silly, maybe? I'm thinking some of this stuff can be fleshed out in-game a bit as he matures))
History: Max had a happy childhood. His mother died when he was two, but he doesn't remember her; he considers his stepmother to be his Mum as she's all he's ever known. He was five when his dad married his stepmother. Max grew up in London ((not sure what school he attended; if it's important, I could research)). He and his sister are well provided for, though not wealthy. His parents are hardworking pub owners who constantly try to instill their work ethics in him; he wants to please them and be a good student but finds this difficult - especially now that he's at a magical school, where he's learning so much that he can put to practical use. He was quite surprised when he got his Hogwarts letter, as was his whole family.

Max skipped into the Great Hall and quickly scanned the room for his pals. He was a bit earlier to breakfast than normal, as he had some Potions homework to finish while scarfing down his bacon and eggs. He hadn't been able to find Ethan to copy off him. Actually, that wasn't entirely true; he hadn't really looked for Ethan because he'd been too busy having a snowball war with some other NPCs Gryffindor firsties. The battle had waged on until curfew, and only as Max was drifting off to sleep had he remembered his undone Potions assignment. Now he flipped open his textbook and sighed, surreptitiously glancing at the doors in the hopes of seeing a friend who could distract him from his tedious task.
