Ashleigh made her way from the kitchen, a basket filled with fruit, pastries, rolls and several fixings draped over her arm and a smile on her face.
She had been upset most of the week but she couldn't help being in quite a chipper mood this morning. For once, she'd managed to wake up and slip off to get breakfast without waking Ed and there was the impending possibility of seeing Tilly over the weekend. Ashleigh had been distraught when she'd learned of Tilly's break down over the holidays. Somehow, she blamed it on herself... she hadn't been here... she hadn't invited her home. Regardless of how many times Ed assured her it wasn't her fault, she couldn't shake the feeling.
Ed. On the train back to Hogwarts, he'd joked about them not leaving the classroom for their first week back. He had joked, but it had turned quite true the second he'd found her upset about Tilly. As always, he was the ever present perfect caring boyfriend... even going so far as to suggest this possible visitation. Sometimes, she didn't know how she'd made it 18 years without him.
Breakfast had been filling, and very preparatory for a day of, well, studying. Really, Caer had nothing else to do, so he headed out of the Great Hall toward the dorm to grab his bags.
On his way, he caught a glimpse of blond hair with a load of food on her arm. Lacking social interaction for so long, he decided it would be good to talk for a while, so he caught up. Only as he reached her did he see that it was Ashleigh (approaching an unknown person probably fell into the category of unintelligent activities).
"You look like a woman on a mission," he said, coming up beside her.

Sadhana was walking the opposite direction in the hallway, and she truly was a woman on a mission. Striding along with her nose stuck in a book, not expecting to meet anyone in the hallways quite this early in the morning, especially on the last weekday before classes started back up.
She intended to turn a corner, but instead walked directly into a classmate carrying a basket.
"Hey!" she cried out, taking a clumsy step backwards. "Watch where you're going!" She didn't see Caer there at all.

Ashleigh looked over at Caer when he joined her. "I am," she answered with a smile. It had been a while since they'd really spoken but she was always happy to see an old friend. Well, truthfully, she was normally happy to see just about anyone... especially on a day like today. She opened her mouth to explain that she was taking breakfast to Ed but the words never came.
"Owww," she declared as the basket she was carrying shoved into her stomach. Certain that she hadn't just ran into a wall, she turned automatically apologizing. "I'm so sorry. I didn't..." her words trailed off when she saw who she'd ran into and how angry she was. "Sorry," she offered in a much weaker voice that she would have cared for.
