Tuesday Dec 6 - After Breakfast - Outside Puff CRdarianaclawMay 1 2006, 05:27:45 UTC
Dari slid along the wall into a sitting position on the floor across from what she knew was the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room, the morning Daily Prophet held loosely in her hand. Everything seemed to be happening at once and she didn't quite know how to process it all. The attack, Kiri, and now her mother being arrested. It was one thing to know your parents were Death Eaters, but quite another to see one sent to Azkaban for it. Was it even okay to be upset? She felt like it somehow made her a bad person for not being glad of it.

Brooke walked out of the common room still crying and saw Dari. She quickly turned away and wiped her tears. She didn't want to be seen crying by anyone. She didn't want to talk about her issues or at least just yet. She turned all puffy eyed, but whatever, to Dari. She saw her crying and remembered it mentioned her mom being arrested in the prophet...She gave her a hug. "Wanna talk?" She gave her a comforting look and waited her answer.

"What?" she acted all surprised, and then acknowleged her red puffy eyes, "oh yeah.. Well I don't really have much of a reason to cry compared to half of the school. And, I wouldn't want to burden you with my problems when you obviously have things going on yourself." She sat down next to her, "ya know, I'm here if you ever need to talk.." She gave her a reassuring look and touched her shoulder as if to reiterate the fact.

As soon as she had gotten hold of the Prophet (she had skipped breakfast that morning), Tris bolted out of her common room in search of Dari. She wasn't sure exactly what to make of this, after factoring in everything that had happened over... well, a long period of time.
Clutching the paper in her hand, she made her way out the door, skidding to a stop when she saw Dari and Brooke. She mouthed wordlessly for a few moments before speaking softly. "... I. Uhm-- good morning," she muttered.

"I know," Dari said, managing to smile at Brooke as she nodded her head. "I'm okay, really." It was a lie, but Dari just wasn't in a mood to talk about it, really. She might have said more, but there was skidding and the arrival of a BFF which interrupted her train of thought.
The look Dari shot Tris was pure gratitude as she saw how she had been rushing and the paper in her hand and figured out easily why she had been in such a hurry.
"Morning," she replied, managing a more genuine smile this time. Tris was just the person she needed to see just now. Maybe she'd be able to help her make sense of the jumble in her head.

"Well, alright," Brooke said kind of uneasily. She figured she should leave, she could tell Dari was upset and Tris and her were best friends. "I guess I'll go then. Bye." She gave Dari a little hug before she got up and gave Tristina a little wave. She figured maybe now, was a good time to go get some fresh air.

"I could ask you the same thing," she said, noting the girl's puffy eyes.
