CeCe decided to take this time to roam the halls for bit before bed. It was great to be back here. She smiled to herself as she ran her fingers across the cool stones of the wall as she walked. "Hello!" she said softly, to the passing potraits. Well she said hi to the nice ones. Some were just plain mean.

"Go to bed, child!" sneered one painting as she walked by. How rude, she thought to herself. She paused and turned slightly to face it. "How about you mind your own business you old codger," CeCe replied coldly. Why she was getting into an argument with a painting was beyond her. Ah, it was good to be back.

After a few moments of bickering, CeCe decided she'd had enough. "WELL YOUR MUM SMELLS!" Was her farewell shout, as she rounded the corner into a different corridor. "How rude!" she muttered to herself, rolling her eyes. She was completely unaware of the person walking not too far from her.

CeCe's jaw dropped for a nanosecond, then she recovered. She had tried to pretend that they didn't go to the same school, but sadly she knew all too well she was bound to run into him eventually.

"It was the portrait. It was harassing me. Blame it! Not me," she said lamely, pointing behind her.

At the mention of her blonde hair, CeCe smiled, completely unintentionally. "Oh, I found out over the summer that blondes do have much more fun than brunettes do." She's not sure what made her say it, but why not? Let him stew with that for awhile.

CeCe pursed her lips. She couldn't decide if she was happy or angry. Maybe she could milk it even more. She didn't care about this boy in front of her. Not at all. It was a lie, but she couldn't admit that to herself.

She rolled her eyes at him. Yup, perfect tacit. "You know. The portrait it was being rude to me," she said it like she was explaining it to a 5 year old.

Waiting, she tried to keep her face void of emotion. She wondered if he'd pry even more into her quickly growing web of lies.

"Oh," she breathed, trying to act completely innocent. "I just meant that a few certain people really liked my blonde hair," she said choosing her words carefully. She absently picked up a strand of said hair and twirled it around her index finger. The act probably made her look about 4, but that didn't matter right now. A slow smile spread across her lips.

"It was much more exiting with fair hair. It kept me on my toes that's for sure." She couldn't seem to stop her mouth from going. Regret was bound to come later.

CeCe quickly dropped the smile and frowned a bit. It worked... sorta. "Yeah, a new year." She glanced at the shiny badge on his chest, her eyes narrowing.

"Nice badge. Comfortable in a position of authority? Does is make you happy that you can make all these decisions on your own? It's all you, Jamie. No one else. Can you handle the responsibility?" Her tone held something more beneath the surface. Yes, she was most definitely sill bitter. Now it made her angry just thinking about what he did to her.

CeCe dropped her jaw at his reaction. Really could he be any more immature? She caught the badge in a reflex reaction. She didn't play Seeker all last year for nothing. Not even sparing the badge a glance, she looked directly at his face. "You know what? I don't want this. This is yours, you obviously deserve it. My mistake, you're more than qualified for the job. I'm sure all of your choices will be made to the best of your abilities," she said, her voice edging on icy.

Taking a step forward, she grabbed a section of his robes and pinned the badge back on his chest. "See? It's the perfect year for you, Jamie. All those obligations, and a perfect partner. You'll do fantastic." Her voice was falsely bright and much too harsh. Of all the days for an encounter like today, it had to be the second day of school. It was going to be a long year.

CeCe bit her lip to keep from saying things she wasn't sure she should say. Although, her hand itched to for her wand. Oh, how she wanted to hex him until next month!

"Ugh! Now what's that supposed to mean!? And she's only pretty if you're into vultures," she seethed, fighting the urge to jab him in the shoulder. She still hadn't moved from her close proximity to him, now he just made her forget all about it in her anger.

"You wouldn't dare," CeCe said defensively, poking his shoulder. She couldn't help herself, he was making her beyond annoyed to very peeved. Wasn't there a pattern here? He could always push her buttons in just the way to make her angry. He knew her too well.

"Oh is that so? You think I'm some hideous old hag, huh? You certainly were singing a different tune la--" She stopped mid sentence. Damn it, the one thing she was certain she wasn't going to bring up in plain English, but she did. Damn. Her mouth had run away with her again.

"You know what? I'm fine being a hideous hag at school. That means I won't have to deal with you. That just means I'll have to have lots of extra fun over the hols." CeCe was so angry, her cheeks were turning pink. He was so aggravating!
