Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHderek_blyMarch 28 2007, 02:11:39 UTC
Life was treating Derek pretty well these days. He was doing his best not to question it and his biggest concern at the moment was heading off to lunch and wondering who would be around to sit next to today. Probably it was safe to join Darin and Taylor at the Puff table finally. They were a good lot, Hufflepuffs, but a loss was a loss and they had been in good position prior to that loss. Ah, well. After being well enough to talk without rambling nonsense (more than usual), Darin hadn't seemed too bitter. Then again, maybe he'd lost the brain cells that would have reminded him it was Derek that had knocked him off of his broom a few of those times.
Not that Darin wouldn't have done the exact same thing to Derek if he'd been less of a showboat and wanted to play beater.

Louise ran through the hallway in her gym shorts and a t-shirt. She'd had a free period the block before, and decided to use her time for her daily run. It had been an excellent run. So excellent that she couldn't dream of walking once she'd gotten inside the castle.
She was getting a bit tired, though. To keep her pace up, she set up a beat of some funky techno song in her head and set her strides to it. Had her focuse been on where she was going rather than keeping up her speed, she might have noticed her fellow fifth year ravenclaw turning the corner.
She squealed when she hit Derek and went flying off balance and onto the floor. She scowled at the ground before looking at what she had deemed a problem. "Derek Bly!" She huffed with a point. "You threw off my beat!"
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHderek_blyApril 1 2007, 01:18:10 UTC
A whole mess of blond ran into Derek, and though his first instinct was to make sure the girl was okay, as he started to offer a hand up he realized who it was and his expression flattened. "Oh." The hand dropped and he straightened. You'd think Louise would know by now to watch where she was going when she ran around corners.
For a moment Derek wished that badge of Hannah's really was his so he could take points for endangering fellow students or running into a Prefect or something. Surely, had the power been his, he could have come up with a reason; never mind that it was his own house he'd be robbing.
"You ran into me," he reminded, clearly unimpressed. "You know there's all sorts of open ground outside for that kind of thing."
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHyouknowlouApril 1 2007, 01:51:02 UTC
The day had been so promising. Louise thought as she got up and dusted herself off. She had been in a good mood before, but now she was aggrivated and had a bruised bum.
"You were walking too. Just because I was moving faster doesn't mean it's not your fault." She had already convinced herself that it wasn't completely her fault. It was a combined effort, wrong place wrong time, kind of deal.
Louise started stretching, starting with her arms before she retorted to Derek. "For your information, I was running outside. I just didn't stop when I came in." She paused for a second, her speach and her stretching, and then added, "And I can run inside if I want to."
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHderek_blyApril 1 2007, 02:19:09 UTC
Did that even make sense in her head? Moving faster? Derek shook his head and gave her half a glare. What was it with her?
"Yeah, if you're eleven. You're setting a bad example. Run outside." Why Derek cared so much about this, he couldn't have said. The answer, actually, was that he didn't. Derek couldn't have cared less about running in the halls (although just now he did think it rather immature because he chose to completely ignore that she was clearly dressed for jogging) but it was Louise so everything she did was prone to irritate him. Like the way she was stretching right here in the hall in front of him, for example. Was that supposed to get his attention or something? He really was not interested, no matter how many times she changed her hair or her look.
"Go take a few more turns then. Or maybe you like running into blokes?"
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHyouknowlouApril 1 2007, 03:22:44 UTC
Louise shook her head and made a face, clearly mocking him. "They'll grow out of it. Besides, a little exercise would do the little pudges good. Technically, I'm setting a good example. You, on the other hand, are preaching laziness and such. Tsk, tsk."
Despite the fact that Derek annoyed her to no end, she loved bickering with people, and he was an excellent person to argue with.
"You can hardly be considered bloke... And I already told you that you set off my beat, thus hindering my running. Come on, keep up with the times." Louise said as she bent over and touched her toes. "Besides, I've already started my cool-down."
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHderek_blyApril 1 2007, 04:15:10 UTC
Derek narrowed his eyes but wasn't going to dignify that comment with a response. No, scratch that. "Yes, because a chaos of students running around is much better then," he retorted. "I could have been a first year, ever think of that?" Never mind that Derek's argument had stopped having a point the minute he'd started; running around the school was just silly and she was dense for not seeing it. There were innocent students running around she could have flattened, after all

"I'm not saying they should be running around like maniacs." Lou frowned at her knees as if they were the cause of all her trouble. Derek was twisting her words around to the point where it wasn't even what she said anymore. She didn't like it even more than she didn't like him. Ah well, that was just the relationship they had and she would just have to deal with it. At least 'dealing with it' in her book didn't include rolling over and crying uncle. That would have been unfortunate. "I am saying that they should get on a pair of shorts and go out for a run

Rolling his eyes seemed the only thing to do and Derek did a fair amount of it.
"Except running the same speed in opposite directions would just make it worse," he pointed out dryly. Maybe Lou should try being a first year again. Clearly she missed a few crucial days in there somewhere.
He glanced back to see her stretching her legs, which was still annoying, but less awkward than the bending. She was doing it to get a reaction from him (or at least Derek was convinced that she was) and he intended to continue ignoring it as best as he could. Were it anyone else, any of his friends, he wouldn't have cared. Anora, Jul or Anya, it wouldn't have been weird. Hannah, of course, was a different story entirely. That Derek wouldn't have had any objections to but this was just Louise being a bint.
"You're fairly feminine, don't you know how long it takes to get ready in the morning."Derek actually laughed for a moment, jaw hanging in mock disbelief. Oh, she was taking it there already, was she? He shook his head. "Actually, I'

Louise gave him a look and decided it would be to her benifit if she didn't answer that question. Truthfully, she did spend a lot of her life in front of her mirror being vain. It was part of her genes to make sure that every hair was in the perfect position. She liked to think that most people appreciated the time and effort, but knowing Derek he would turn it into an insult. At thie particular time, or at any time at all for that matter, having her looks mocked wasn't something that Lou wanted to put her ego through.
"Wait a minute. Back up the bus." Louise held her hands up for that 'back up' kind of motion. "Since when have you been good looking?" She mimicked his disbelief.
Louise was finnished with her stretching, she decided. If she wasn't stretching, she figured she could come up with better come-backs. As fun as it was to insult Derek's looks, it had been done before. Louise wasn't one to repeat things too many times, and Derek was most definitely not an exception.
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHderek_blyApril 7 2007, 03:57:51 UTC
"I have always been good looking," Derek said flatly.
Yeah, this wasn't really Derek as his normal self. At all. It wasn't that he was usually insecure or un-confident, but he wasn't the DeLouise twins. Lou did, however, have a way of instantly getting under his skin and making him down right catty. The only response to something like "Since when have you been good looking?" was complete confidence in the fact that the opposite was true. He definitely wasn't the wanker that Tobias or Lucas was about it, but yeah, Derek figured he was an alright looking bloke. For sure, Louise of all people had no place to tell him otherwise because, he? Was ten times cooler than she was, and that's all that mattered here.
And to think, they'd gotten along so well second year.
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHyouknowlouApril 10 2007, 00:42:16 UTC
Lou contemplated his statement for a second with her hand on her hip. With a sigh she turned her head to look out a nearby window. "I suppose you're not completely dreadful looking. But you're not drop dead gorgeous by any means." She looked back at him. "But then again, I may be a bit biased since I severley dislike you."
How could Hannah date him? He was so annoying that Lou could harldy stand it. Yet Hannah seemed to adore him. Then again, Hannah was a little crazy.
Re: Tuesday, April 11th - Just before lunch, on the way to the GHderek_blyApril 10 2007, 05:13:12 UTC
Derek paused, a look of feigned- actually mocking- shock on his face. "Was that a compliment?" Coming from Lou, he was fairly certain there was no other way to take it. It made him feel weird to have her not trying to tear him up more and Derek looked off down the hall too, hoping there'd be someone or something to distract him and remind him to move on.
Oh, right! There was lunch to get to. "Well, the feeling is mutual," he assured her, talking about the dislike and certainly not her being decent looking. Louise was over-done and definitely not his type anymore. "And I've got lunch to be eating so...I'll be going now." Yep. So much for parting blows, eh?
