Wednesday, March 29th - Just After Dinnerbas_scottMarch 1 2007, 05:32:37 UTC
It seemed that any time that a meal had happened, Bastian was walking around with food. He couldn't help it, really. He just liked the Hogwarts meals that much, and it helped that some of the components were portable.
Like the dinner rolls.
He was carrying them outside, because it wasn't raining like it had been on Tuesday. He loved outside and couldn't wait to get out of the confines of the castle walls, so as soon as he'd eaten a lovely dinner?
He was out of there.
Heading down toward the lake, rolls in hand, he grinned and started singing, kind of loudly. Hey, no one was right around him, and even if they were, they could deal with listening to a little cheery music!
Re: Wednesday, March 29th - Just After Dinnerlexie_hurstMarch 1 2007, 05:44:26 UTC
Well, he was wrong about no one else being around! Because Lexie was.
Okay, well, only sort of, but he was singing loudly enough that she could hear him anyway, so it pretty much still counted.
She probably wouldn't have bothered going outside tonight, really, except that it was just weird not to have anything to do on a Wednesday evening, so she didn't want to just... go back to the common room or whatever. So she headed outside after all.
She turned from the direction she had been heading when she heard the singing, though, and smiled when she spotted Bastian, heading over towards him.
"Have you become the Hogwarts kitchens?" she asked conversationally.
Re: Wednesday, March 29th - Just After Dinnerbas_scottMarch 1 2007, 15:09:57 UTC
Swinging around with a look that was akin to a deer caught in the headlights, Bas stopped singing for a moment. Then, noting that it was Lexie (who he liked, even if he didn't hang around her often), he grinned brightly.
"Have I become the kitchens?" Eyeing the rolls in his hand, he swapped one to his other hand, offering it to her and taking a bite of the other. "...I 'spose you could call me that," he added in a slightly muffled tone.
Hey.
He couldn't help it if the Hogwarts food was just good.
She couldn't possibly deny that she wanted more food from the castle, especially when they went off on vacations or for the summer or what-have-you.
Re: Wednesday, March 29th - Just After Dinnerlexie_hurstMarch 1 2007, 21:56:52 UTC
Lexie laughed slightly at the look on Bastian's face when he turned to face her, though she grinned back at him when he did -- and she even took the offered roll, though she wasn't that hungry.
Hey. She'd never said she didn't like the Hogwarts food as well, after all!
"There's worse things to be," she pointed out, taking a bite of the roll he'd given her, chewing and swallowing before finishing her thought. "You could be... the loo." See? Definitely a good thing to be the kitchens. Plus, the kitchens were popular. See, it worked out all the way around.
"So what's up?" she asked, because a change of subject seemed like a good idea.
Thursday 30 March - Grounds - Early Morningedward_mcmillanMarch 1 2007, 22:41:49 UTC
The last quidditch match of the year - of Ed's entire academic career - was fast approaching and even though he was confident in his team, he couldn't help feeling a little anxious. He really wanted to win this game! He'd never show that, though, not beyond riding the team extra hard in practices or spending even more time working out on his own. He'd just had a flight around the pitch and stowed his broom back in his room, but he also felt like a good run might be a fair idea.
He paused to look out over the lake for a moment before taking off in a brisk jog, heading towards and then along the shoreline, stopping short of the forest before heading back in towards the castle, running through quidditch plays and strategies in his mind as he ran.
Re: Thursday 30 March - Grounds - Early MorningsoundingfurrowsMarch 3 2007, 20:50:34 UTC
The chill heavy in the air brought Caer's breath to a thick mist in front of his face. He panted hotly, having just completed another encounter with his practice tree (which, by this point, was looking more than a little used). Few animals stirred in the branches, perhaps because of the hour, or the cold, but the silence suited his mood and purposes. He needed to contact Jelly, and that meant sending a letter disguised as a chess board. The proposition, while secure, still made him uneasy, and he dreaded the act itself. Still, what must be done, must be done.
A sound behind him brought the Slytherin back to the present, and Caer slid silently behind a tree on the forest's edge. A jogger approached, though it was another moment before he could clearly see who it was. Amused that his fellow housemate would continue his physical training (yet failing to see the irony of his own daily routine), Caer stayed his position until Ed had turned back toward the school. It might be nice to have a live opponent, he thought then, and

Ed was focused on his run, not really noticing Caer. The small explosion on the ground near him got his attention, though and he instinctively reached for his wand, which was already in his hand by the time he'd lifted his head enough to see Caer standing there.
"Oi, watch where you point that thing," he called, though he was grinning. He knew full well that if Caer had wanted to actually attack him in any way, that little eruption in the ground would have been much closer. And stronger. And his proposition was definitely not without appeal.
He grinned at the boy, nodding his head as he moved slightly closer. "Banter before breakfast? Always a sound plan."
Re: Thursday 30 March - Grounds - Early MorningsoundingfurrowsMarch 6 2007, 03:37:17 UTC
"Oh, come on now," Caer replied, walking closer and bouncing on the balls of his feet just slightly, "My pyrotechnics can't possibly scare you anymore, can they?"
Twirling his wand in his hand, Caer stopped bouncing and began walking in a circle around his opponent. "Right then, we'll need some rules. First...fuck it. Just don't kill me, yea?"
With a grin, he stopped, pointed his wand at Ed, and silently cast Densaugeo.
Monday, March 27th, afternoon 3.hunter_raMarch 2 2007, 00:28:54 UTC
Rainy days were happy days for Ruth Ann, as rainy days usually meant not-snowy days. Snow was, after all, for sitting on the ground and playing with for an hour or two every three months or so. It was not for frequent falling and unending cold.
Bundled up with several sweaters, a coat, and finally her cloak over the top of her robes, Ruth Ann trotted outside in her spiffy boots so as to enjoy the pleasant rainy-wetness of the day.
Re: Monday, March 27th, afternoon 3.georgie_pykeMarch 2 2007, 00:43:12 UTC
It had been almost lovely when Georgiana had ventured outside this morning with her bag of books to read in peace. However she'd started the most boring book in the world, and had soon surrendered to the sort of comfortable outside nap that was brought on by the peace and quiet of the outside.
And then it had started to rain. Even with her cloak over her, Georgiana was well soaked by the time she woke up shivering. This was going to bring on a cold for sure. And the book was positively wrecked. And still she hadn't done anything to move.
Re: Monday, March 27th, afternoon 3.hunter_raMarch 2 2007, 00:49:19 UTC
"Woo!" Ruth Ann cried out gleefully as the rain started again, running through the rain towards the lake. "This is what weather should be like!" she crowed happily as she jumped into a puddle, laughing.
Her happy abandon wasn't to last, however, as her usual clumsiness quickly caught up with her. A misstep caused Ruth Ann to put her foot down wrong on a patch of mud, and with a THUMP! she slipped and fell on her back. "Ow."
Re: Monday, March 27th, afternoon 3.georgie_pykeMarch 4 2007, 08:37:02 UTC
It was at the bone-chillingly cold stage that Georgiana decided it was probably time to move. It wasn't like that was going to make a jot of difference as to how wet she was, or even maybe whether or not she got sick, but good sense meant she should go inside. Shoving her wet book back into her wet nap sack, she stood up just in time to see a flying redhead go down.
Though she didn't exactly run to the girl in a frenzy, her pace was quicker than usual as she offered a hand down to the girl.
"General wisdom says you're supposed to be inside during the rain," She spoke louder, over the top of the rain to be heard.
Monday, March 27th, After Arithmancyanora_beeMarch 6 2007, 04:28:37 UTC
Anora had opted to step out onto the Grounds before the rain started again. Sure, rain was fun in all of its watery glory, but it had been raining seemingly constantly for the past few weeks. She'd dropped off her books in the Common Room before wandering over to the lake, which looked as cold as ever. She couldn't wait until it got a little warmer, when it'd be warm enough to go swimming. Speaking of waiting until the weather got warmer, warmer weather meant May, and May meant Anora's sixteenth birthday. In fact, it was EXACTLY two months until her birthday. She did a small happy dance, lost in her thoughts. She'd have to do this one up right, she had a reputation to uphold, after all. Sure, some people would think that planning one's birthday two months in advance was a little obsessive, but Anora most definitely didn't think so. After all, proper planning took time, and Nora was not going to disappoint

[OOC: No idea if this is going on before or after the Hannah run-in. Let's make it after, even if that's not finished, just 'cause...more awkward]
Azriel was walking very deliberately away from the castle, looking both ways as he shoved his hands into his pockets, eyes on the lookout for any random Salixes that might happen to jump out at him at any moment and try to suck his blood.
He watched, wide-eyed, as he saw the rock skip over the surface of the water, whistling low as he hastened over to see who had managed such an impressive rock-skip. "I can only ever get it to--"
He stopped, as he saw just who had been doing the rock-skipping, and flushed brilliantly in the knowledge that Anora probably could psychically detect some kind of Hannah Hates Me residue that was clinging to his person. "I-- I mean, hi," he stammered. "That was pretty good."
Re: Monday, March 27th, After Arithmancyanora_beeMarch 7 2007, 06:44:10 UTC
Anora grinned, satisfied at her effort. "Thanks!" she sad brightly to whoever the voice belonged to, before looking over to see where it was coming from. She spotted Az and her smile faltered somewhat. Ah Azriel, the Infamous Ex of Hannah's. She hadn't seen Hannah at all that day because she didn't take Arithmancy, but she had heard about their recent encounters.
Merlin, the world was a small place sometimes. Out of all the blokes in Hogwarts, Hannah's ex had to be the one who happened to be the brother of one of her best friends. So this made her position slightly awkward, as she was generally the type of person who would be friends with everyone around her, if only her friends didn't seem to be sworn enemies with half the people at the school.
Sigh.
"Heyy Az," she said, if not a little wearily. "How's it going?" maybe for once she wouldn't have to be obligatorily mean. Meh, who knew. If he was annoying, then she'd leave or something.
Re: Monday, March 27th, After Arithmancycapricious_azMarch 7 2007, 07:07:10 UTC
Azriel looked around as the girl spoke, as if he was expecting her to be speaking to someone else behind him, and then in shock and amazement at the fact that, unlike his encounters with her counterpart, he was still on his feet.
He grinned, looking a bit relieved, then stepped up closer to the girl. She didn't bite, right? This wasn't some plot to lure him unsuspectingly toward the lake and drown him, was it?
He hoped not. "All right," he answered, as nonchalantly as possible. "I, ah, I have Herbology later." Oh, now you sound like a really brilliant conversationalist, he thought to himself. "You charm that rock or something?" he asked. That was easier than talking about himself. He picked up his own stone, rubbing it between his fingers. "Every time I try to skip a rock, it turns into...erm, more like dunking a rock," he said with a sheepish smile, demonstrating as he flicked his wrist just the way he had been shown hundreds of times and sent his stone plunking into the water with a disappointing thud.

Mwahaha.
He was evil, and probably shouldn't have been trusted, but he'd managed to get Ash to come outside with him, and that was the important thing. He hated having to sit around in the castle, even when the weather wasn't the best in the world.
Ash didn't always come out with him, but he'd promised her cookies.
So hopefully she'd come this time. He was bouncing on his heels outside the Entrance doors, waiting for the familiar blonde head of his best friend to come out of the castle. Then they could go do... something or another.
Re: Sunday, April 2nd - 3:00PMashleigh_bartonMarch 6 2007, 20:54:44 UTC
- 8 to 10 minutes later -
Ashleigh was late.
As usual, she'd had spent her weekend in the classroom with Ed. She had told her boyfriend several times that she had to meet Bas at three o'clock on Sunday but when Sunday came around he was a little reluctant to let her leave. Ashleigh being Ashleigh had gotten a little distracted (he could be awful distracting when he wanted to be, after all) and she'd not managed to leave the classroom until three o'clock exactly.
Sure, she was a little rushed as she made her way outside but there was a grin on her face and, if nothing else, the Gryffindor was happy.
Bas had promised her cookies, after all. She couldn't turn down those or the time she was going to get to spend with him. Besides, he must really miss her if he felt that he had to bribe her with her most favorite sweet ever.
She practically jogged out the entrance, swinging the door wide when she did so. "Hey," she called brightly, hoping that he didn't notice that she was running a little behind.
Re: Sunday, April 2nd - 3:00PMbas_scottMarch 6 2007, 23:30:32 UTC
Oh, he noticed.
And he instantly turned his 'sad puppy dog face' on, turning to look at her with that pouty sad face that tended to get him what he wanted. "You're late," he said, even sticking his lip out just a little. Now, he wasn't really offended in the least, but he could pretend!
"I think I may have caught pneumonia."
Those cookies that he'd promised her?
They were definitely not coming out of his pocket yet. No, she had some grovelling to do first. Again with the evil.
Re: Sunday, April 2nd - 3:00PMashleigh_bartonMarch 7 2007, 01:22:45 UTC
Of course he'd noticed. Bas rarely missed things like that... especially since he knew that a five or ten minute tardy would drive Ashleigh completely bonkers.
Oh... it was the beaten puppy face. She was always weak when he used that face. "I'm sorry," she pouted right back at him. "I was a little tied up... and I'm only a few minutes late."
When he took it as far as telling her that he'd caught pneumonia, her pout dropped and she stuck her tongue out at him. "Oh bloody hell, Bas," she scolded. "If you caught pneumonia that quickly, you were bound to catch it while we were out here playing."
That is what they were meant to do, right? Play? Right... play and eat cookies. OH COOKIES! Though, she was willing to bet that she couldn't get those just yet. No... she'd wait it out for now.
