Sunday 12th March -- Lunchtime. THE GREAT DRAG EXTRAVAGANZA. rupertwindsorj January 31 2007, 04:39:13 UTC
[This is for mine and Rupert's one year anniversary in game. So get involved bitches, I want to make it something to remember.]

It hadn't really hit him until this morning. When he'd woken up and looked down at the pom poms hanging dejectedly on the end of his bed next to the poorly knitted scarf he so often wore to matches with pride, the reality of it all sunk in. He'd been so sure that Ravenclaw (AND MADDOX!) would win, he'd made that bet with Hannah.

"Care to make a wager on that? If you are our bad luck charm, you have to dress up as a girl and parade around the halls. Possibly singing some songs."And he had been. Slytherin (dirty, cheating and possibly gay bastards that they were) had won the match. Rupert's cheers for Mads and the rest of the team had died, and then Colin had gloated. And now he had to wear drag. Girls clothing. Parading around, Hannah had said, possibly singing songs. It had seemed like the safest bet to make in the world. Boy oh boy was he wrong. They'd gone down like a lead ballon and Rupert had found ( ... )

Derek wasn't in the best of moods after that game yesterday but it was still the weekend and therefore he'd at least been able to sleep late. There were any number of strange things that happened at Hogwarts on a regular basis, so when Derek finally woke up and wandered his way into the Great Hall to see Rupert in drag, he paused, blinked and took a seat as though things were normal. The bloke had taken over History of Magic at sword point, after all. Was anything so terribly strange after something like that?

((driveby!))

Taylor was already sitting down chowing down on an intricate sandwich he had taken five precious moments to assemble. It had everything on it. There were pickles, smushed blood pudding, some chips, and there was... And there was Rupert in drag... Taylor now needed to wash his eyes out with some sort of acid. No way was this in any way natural or right.

And now he had lost his appetite, which was never something easy for him to do.

Darin had been taking a drink of his pumpkin juice when Rupert burst out into song. He looked up, and suddenly there was a snort and the quick attempt to prevent juice from actually sputtering all over his food as he saw what the seventh year was wearing.

"What," Darin coughed, fighting off the effects of laughing while drinking, "is he wearing?" He looked at Taylor for a second but Rupert in drag was a but like a train wreck; he had to look back. "Bloody hell, I thought the face paint was bad," Darin muttered, wiping his hands on his twin's napkin.

Having nowhere better to kill his time until Double Potions, Derek wandered into the Great Hall a little early to see who was around. He supposed he could just sit at his own table, but there wasn't anyone over there just yet that he felt the need to join.

Anora had been sitting at her own table, reading over her Potions textbook as she ate. Yes, she realized that she looked like a nerdy 'Claw, but she was really not understanding whatever it is that they were learning at the moment, so she'd taken the opportunity of having no one else around to pull out her arch nemesis in book form, and read over the pages they were learning from.

She took a moment to grab a bite of a salad she was currently working her way through, and spotted Derek all by his lonesome. She waved him over and motioned for him to come on over, maybe HE knew what they were working on.

Oi, there was Anora. Derek nodded after being waved down and headed over, flopping his bag onto the bench next to him as he sat. "Hey. I was afraid I was going to be stuck eating with Jamie for a second there," he commented. Yes, things with the team were still a little stressed. Hopefully it would get sorted out at practice this week, until then Derek was trying not to think about Quidditch at all. Only so much disappointment at once, right?

He surveyed the food and reached for a roll. "Work before class?"

Anora laughed, "That would've been unfortunate," she said. "Sorry about Quidditch," she said sympathetically, "I was cheering for you guys! Obviously," she added afterwards. As if she would ever cheer for Slytherins, that would be the day.

She nodded towards her potions book, "Work, indeed. I have no idea what we're even doing right now in this class," she said. "I swear, if I didn't have Dome to help me out with Potions I would've failed it by now. I mean, I guess if I didn't loathe it so much I might do better," she shrugged. "Anyways, I'm trying not to think about having to get a high enough grade to get into the NEWT level of the class next year," Apparently that was a necessity if one ever wanted to even be considered for Auror training. GRAND.

Wow, these potatoes looked GREAT, didn't they? Yes, they did. Ben moved his food around with his fork creating a sort of hill with his mashed potatoes. He then proceeded to move his peas around so that they formed sort of a moat. Yes, this was very interesting. Rupert's song choice of I will survive was actually kind of catchy. Ben almost started humming it, but he caught himself in time. He picked up a bite of food from the top of the mashed potato hill and grabbed a sip of his pumpkin juice.

Bess walked into the Great Hall that afternoon for lunch, and immediately, she started to wonder what the hell was going on at the Hufflepuff table. When the third year went to go check it out, she saw a very manly woman, dressed oddly and singing "I Will Survive." Huh. And people called her weird for reading the Quibbler and believing the stories they printed in there. Besides, the idea of the Ministry letting out werewolves was totally possible, as was the Minister having an affair with a hag.

The Gryffindor rolled her eyes at the crossdresser, then sat down at the table across from her brother. "Is it me, or is that the same boy that was going around liberating all the history classes?" Not that she minded that time -- History was boring.

Ben glanced up to see his sister sitting down. "Yeah, that's Rupert. He's a bit eccentric." Once glance down at the strange arrangement of his food made him mix it up and ruin his awesome hill of potatoes and peas.

"Not all Hufflepuffs are like that..."

Bess could easily see that -- a bit, that was kind of an understatement. "Uh huh," she replied with a slow nod. "Then again, who knows, he's probably fun to hang around. I bet he has an interesting life.." Anyone that was that openly weird and not all that worried about people making fun of them or laughing at them had to be cool on some level.

"I dunno," she said. "Remember when Mum tried to put dress robes on you? You looked like a girl then."

Pearline had intended to enjoy a nice quiet lunch before heading back to her dorm. Nobody here was worth associating with anyway. Her cousins (on both sides) were no where to be seen, so a lunch of solitude was the next best option at the moment.

Walking to the end of the Ravenclaw table, to be seated away from the rest of the riff raff, Pearline piled some food (but not an alarming amount) on her plate and began to quietly eat her food.

She winced, however, when an offensive sound reached her ears and she scrunched her nose and looked around to hear where it was coming from when her eyes rested on Jones. Oh…him…the imbecile who overtook History of Magic for the day. What was he up to now? Besides making a fool out of himself.

“Ugh, disgusting”

In front of a certain Gryffindor sat a massive, massive plate of salad. Not just any plain, limp, boring salad, mind you -- oh no. When Von D. Courtlandt made salad? He made a salad of epic proportions. This salad was spinach and romaine and endive and sprouts, with carrots and peppers and raisins and sunflower kernels and corn, all topped off with salsa. It ... towered.

The Gryffindor in question was staring at his creation with nothing short of delight on his face. His over-long scarf puddled around his feet and his hat sat next to him on the bench, both parts of the great whole that was Von's Current Fashion Statement -- The Fourth Doctor.

"Oh yes," he told the salad. "Prepare to be devoured."

After recieving a letter from Pete about how their cricket team (the one he had had to give up captaincy of when he'd moved away to go to Hogwarts) had once again won the championship and how there had been professional scouts at his Eton game, Rupert had felt a keening loss for his beloved game, and had thus saw fit to divest himself of his uniform for a while he displayed his longing for cricket by wearing his cricketing whites. Besides, he thought he cut a fine figure, all tall and dashing and sporty in his whites.

However as he entered the Great Hall, it was not his outfit that captivated his interest, but that of his friend, Von. Of course he could eat lunch at the Gryffindor table today. It was time for a change.

"You know," He said, sliding in next to Von, who seemed to be having a love affair with his salad, "If I had a hat and a coat, I could probably be the Fifth Doctor, and then we'd be quite the pair."

"Yes, but everyone," Von said breezily, "who's anyone knows that the Fourth Doctor was responsible for bringing sexy back. How's it goin', Rupert? You look like a US Naval Officer today. Should I be referring to you as Billy Budd the Ruddy Sailor for the duration of the day?"

He picked up his forkful of salad and offered it to his friend. "Salad?"

Rupert shook his head at the offer of salad as he was simultaneously scandalised at the lack of recognition of his cricketing whites. A SAILOR? Cricketing whites were NOTHING like a sailor's outfit.

"I am a cricketer," He corrected, reaching for some roast beef instead. Growing boy needed food strong in iron, after all. "Which is entirely different from a sailor." If no less gay. "I like your outfit, though. Should I be calling you The Doctor?"
