Addie relaxed at a table the busy common room and idly finished up her Astronomy work before the practical lesson that night.
Not like she wasn't nearly finished, not like she was actually doing the work.. no more like she was just passing time watching the cute older boys come in.

Qailah had an issue that desperately needed to be addressed - and for this particular problem, there was only one person she could talk to.
She came up from the Great Hall with a mug of coffee and was relieved to see Addie reclining at a table. She dodged a pair of first-years in a hurry , deftly avoiding scalding them with hot coffee (although she did consider it) and sat beside Addie.
"Do you know the last time I was kissed?" Qailah complained. "It has been far too long."

Addie giggled as she saw her dormmate enter the room and watched her for a second. First years were rather amusing if not irritating when you were the one who had to deal with them.
"Oh?" Of course Addie would never admit that she'd only kissed a handful of people ever. "That's rather a shame.."

"Ugh," Qailah grunted with dissatisfaction as she sipped her coffee. "The last guy that kissed me was Tobias. I don't even know of any good candidates. And this coffee is nasty," she added.
She sighed and pushed her coffee away. "Please tell me you've been kissing all sorts of boys lately so I can live vicariously through you," Qailah smiled hopefully.

Addie giggled again, sure that was the last boy she'd kissed to but she'd told people she'd gotten with Trent at hogsmeade...(like he'd ever deny that).
"That is rather wrong..." She'd come close with Tobias...she shivered involuntarily..he'd called her bluff and she'd been forced (by her own pride) to go further with him then with others.
"Hmmm...well...there was Trent but...he wasn't really worth pursuing after...you know..." Addie shrugged. "I ran into Maddox yesterday..he seemed...nice.." Addie giggled to convey more but overall he seemed like an okay guy. "Seems like most of the cute ones are taken though...Tybalt, Jesse.."
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)qailah_nooraniJanuary 8 2007, 21:12:20 UTC
"All the really cute ones would never be seen with a fourth-year anyway," Qailah moped. "Maybe I should just make out with Trent for shits and giggles."
Qailah could, in fact, count the number of boys she'd kissed on one hand, but she'd never admit that, lest it ruin the flirtatious reputation she so carefully cultivated. She liked boys, and she liked them a lot, but getting them to kiss her proved much more difficult than she liked to admit.
As her mind wandered, Qailah spoke out loud without filtering the nonsense that came out of her mouth.
"Do you suppose that love charms really work? Are there charms that will just work for kissing - kissing charms? Potions are effective, I think, but such a bother. And they can be expensive, too. Maybe I should have stocked up on things in Hogsmeade."
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)addie_blackwoodJanuary 8 2007, 21:29:21 UTC
There was a pause and then Addie began laughing, pushing Qailah while she did so.."You're too much...and no. I don't think so.." Of course she could care less about charms, she hated them.
"Trent is okay...kinda...not worth it?" Covering your own tracks Addie? Maybe. "I was disappointed really.."
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)qailah_nooraniJanuary 8 2007, 21:34:19 UTC
"He's fun to tease, but he doesn't have much else going for him, does he?" Qailah asked, unable to hide her disappointment. She really wished that she could be as "fun and fancy free" as she thought Addie was.
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)addie_blackwoodJanuary 8 2007, 22:06:16 UTC
She nodded with confidence and tapped her fingers idly against the table.
"Finished your astronomy work for tonight? I can't express how much I hate having class at night." Addie made a half frown, half grin as she spoke..hopefully soon it would be over with (after OWLS and all that).
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)qailah_nooraniJanuary 8 2007, 22:10:23 UTC
"Astronomy? Yeah, sure," Qailah replied noncommittally. In fact, she didn't even know what the assignment was, but she was sure she could steal her sister's before class and copy enough of it to be acceptable. "Night class does suck..." Qailah agreed, but then a thought crossed her mind. "Wanna skip tonight? I'm sure we could find something more interesting to do!"
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)qailah_nooraniJanuary 8 2007, 22:27:34 UTC
"There's thousands of more interesting things to do!" Qailah insisted. The gears in her head began churning. "Maybe making some mischief would take my mind off my dry spell."
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)addie_blackwoodJanuary 8 2007, 22:34:34 UTC
She quirked an eyebrow at Qailah and then began to chuckle, "Oh...well..maybe...you didn't do the work did you?"
Yeah...she was onto Qailah; four years did tend to make you get to know people. She gave the girl a smile and nodded. "I guess I can skip....we'll have to save Arisha though...we can catch her at dinner. But you need to come up with a plan or something."

"Oh...well..maybe...you didn't do the work did you?"
"Guilty as charged," Qailah admitted, not the least bit guiltily. "I'm sure we can make up some bogus story about Arisha's grandma dying or something to get her out." Qailah bit her lip as she started thinking of plots to keep them occupied. "We could scare us some firsties somehow. Or maybe come up with a way to end our dry spells..."
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)addie_blackwoodJanuary 8 2007, 23:06:49 UTC
"I don't think we need to go that far. She'll come along if I prod her..she doesn't like being alone in class anyway." She shrugged and gave a glance as someone else entered the common room - but was a nobody.
"Tormenting firsties is boring..and involves dealing with them." She shuddered even thinking of it. "We could maybe stalk Professor Ailwin..but he's probably in his office or something boring. That man needs to get out more." Addie pursed her lips in thought.
"We could always go to the pitch and watch quidditch practice...Tuesday is Ravenclaw? Hufflepuff?" She couldn't really remember but the thought of catching Maddox at work intrigued her.
Re: Tuesday, February 28 - Afternoon3 (before dinner)qailah_nooraniJanuary 8 2007, 23:14:44 UTC
"Oh, that would be great," Qailah agreed, eyes widening. "You know what would be greater? If we totally crashed it. Do you know anyone who has a broom I could steal?"
