O'Neill sat on a couch in the common room, eating a biscuit. He'd been getting them from that house elf and eating enough to start to get a bit of a soft spot around his middle. Of course, he was blissfully unaware of the fact that he was become rather round... His school robes were cut rather generously. It had been a boringday for him, and he hoped that it wouldn't turn into a boring night.

Jul came in after class and crashed on the couch next to O'Neill and sighed. "Can we just skip classes and play quidditch all day? I wouldn't mind that."
She looked over at the pile of books she'd dropped on the floor with disdain and then for the first time looked over at him and saw he was eating. "Where'd you get that? Dinner isn't for another hour?" Which clearly meant that she was starving and wanted one.

"I uhhhh..." O'Neill patted down his robes, and pulled out a slightly fuzzy biscuit. He blew on it, sending fuzz everywhere, and passed it to Jul, "Uh, my mum?" Smooth, O'Neill, he thought to himself, sure she'll never suspect a thing.
"But yeah, Quidditch all day sounds brilliant," he said, talking fast, hoping to distract her from finding out his precious biscuit connection, "They should have schools where all you do is play Quidditch! And the beaters should be given extra meals and privelages, because we all KNOW that's the best position to play."

Jul stared at him for a second, watching him blow off the lint from his robes but hey she accepted muffins from Maggie's bookbag all the time. She grinned as he handed it to her and picked off small pieces and started popping them in her mouth. "Thanks!"
It was nice having some people that didn't hate her, it seemed that recently all the people that she thought were her friends had decided that she wasn't anymore (nevermind the fact that Hannah and her had fought and people tended to choose her side).
"Yeah," She nodded. Not even thinking anymore about where he had gotten the biscuit from...then she remembered that Jesse had basically gotten O'Neills spot on the team after he left and she felt kind of bad...so she really wasn't thinking about it.
"And Chasers too..we need food for all that...moving..or something." She grinned but now was more worried about the whole beater deal to be really happy.

"Pah, chasers!" He said, taking on a snooty air, "think they're sooo important because they score all the points!" He flicked the last of his biscuit at her.
"Can't wait until next year," he said wistfully, "Bloody parents better not take me out of school again. They've no idea how much they messed up my year! I know competition's going to be stiff, but I plan on winning my spot back next year. Dad's always on me to get involved with sports anyway. He'd prefer rugby, but then he'd prefer a Muggle son, I think."
He wrinkled his nose. Did he just say that? He rather prided himself on being one of the only boys in Hogwarts WITHOUT daddy-issues.
"Er, but never mind about all that... how's things with you?"
Re: Tuesday, Feb 28- Evening (open threadage)jul_agateJanuary 7 2007, 02:02:52 UTC
Jul giggled a bit, batting away the piece of flying food. "Oi. I never said that!" But with O'Neill she wasn't that defensive about it, she'd long gotten over that around him and just enjoyed his company (as crazy as it could get).
She bit her lip when he mentioned next year..he'd be up against Zak and Jesse..and Zak had been on the team for a while...of course she wanted Jesse to stay on the team (he was her boyfriend afterall) but she didn't like to think she was rooting against O'Neill either.
His question made her snap back out of her own thoughts, completely missing any tone he might have had about his dad (since she was pretty sure her mum felt the same way).
"Oh...um..." Jul couldn't lie. She was horrid at it, so usually she just didn't try, but she didn't want to make someone else think that all she did was whine. "good. you know. OWLs and all that.." She bit her lip and just hoped he wasn't paying enough attention to catch her on it.

"OWLS, UGH!" O'Neill rolled his eyes. "Do we really have to think about those? I should study"
He reached down and pulled one of his Tranfig book out of his bag and flipped it open. He read a paragraph aloud at top speed, then threw the book back down into his bag.

She laughed a bit, wishing that she could go back to that way of studying, "Oh well...I have potions tutoring later tonight.."
She shrugged, six days of the week of it was enough to make Jul's head hurt just thinking about it but hopefully some of it was sticking. And if she wanted to pass high enough to get into NEWTS.
"I like your studying better though." She giggled again and looked around.
"Is it dinner yet?" Of course Jul couldn't stop thinking about food for long, and that biscuit had only made her hungrier.

"Oh..." Jul looked around seeing no signs of Mags but she might be off with Tybalt somewhere...and she was sure to see Jesse soon anyway right?
"Yeah, let's go!" She said after a small hesitation. "That way we can get first dibs...maybe the elves will even bring some out early for us?" Wishful thinking on her part but Jul had been getting along pretty good with them when she had been avoiding the great hall.

"Sure, hey, I'll race you down!" O'Neill said, jumping up. He was used to racing Raegan who used a "cheat to win" sort of style, so that's probably why he took off on Jul before giving her a chance to reply.

Jul stood there in shock for a couple of seconds before yelling out "Hey!" and running after him. She couldn't LOSE could she? And dinner with O'Neill wouldn't be that bad, she hardly doubted she'd run into anyone she'd get into a fight with... (okay maybe Elanor but she would just...leave...yeah..).

"There. I've studied," he announced
He grinned. "And you? 'Studied' any today?"
