Early this morning, Jack and I went to the vet.  He was supposed to get a steroid shot (he has a chronic inflammatory condition) and, if the vet had time, his annual checkup.  She had time ( Read more... )

My poor kitty boy is REALLY going to hate going to the vet, after this!

At least he got his shots and we don't have to repeat this. (Although we will have to draw some blood later, for tests.) But I can only imagine what it felt like, to be held down, have alcohol splashed in your eye, and then salt water poured over your face.

My friend lolaraincoat sometimes talked about her cats' conviction that the vet office is a "terrible place, where they EAT cats!" Jack probably feels the same. Unlike my previous cat, Jack actually has a long-term memory.

Tomorrow afternoon. Which reminds me that I should probably cancel my rehab/chiro visit, since pick-up time is right in the middle of that.

Glad you replied: I saw the message and thought, "Oh, that's right! I was just about to do that, and I didn't!"

Done now: I left a message.

Yay!

Anything else new and exciting? I've been busy teaching, gardening, and making soup. Oh, and cleaning. Lots and lots of deep cleaning.

Not really! I did have a houseguest over the weekend of the 4th, which was fun.

And my last day at this job assignment will be this week.

And I've taken care of various small issues:

- fixed a very annoying desktop computer problem;
- got the caller ID box to work again;
- cleaned and prepped the mini-coffee maker and put it under a cozy for if I ever use it again;
- put various things that had been out FOREVER back where they belong, in some cases inventing a "place where they belong" for them.

Which reminds me that I have some unused space-saver bags, and I should put the spare sheets in them now that they're out of the dryer. Voila! A barely-apprehended problem, solved!
