The Lost World of Gallifrey

Nov 29, 2013 16:42

I was asked to post this by someone who wanted to preserve her anonymity. She goes by "Bill Butler's Girl".

I will arise and go now, and go to Gallifrey
A citadel rebuild there, with quantum force field made;
The deep red grass I'll have there, with tafelshrews at play,
And walk once more in the silver glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning, when snow with sun-twinned shine
Makes mountains all a-glimmer, and rocks with purple glow,
Til evening falls on the northern line.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear time’s echoes lapping with low sounds on the shore
While I stand in the TARDIS, in search of Gallifrey
I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

For context: The Lake Isle of Innisfree.
