Or, I went out to buy a second-hand bookcase, and three thrift stores later had two CDs and a Cuisinart dual-canister ice cream maker.
Aside from having dirty feet, the ice cream maker shows no signs of use at all, although it wasn't in a box. The mechanism works (I plugged it in at the store to test.) The canisters are in the freezer right now.
In a day or two I'll try it out.
