wickedgillie kindly meme'd me, at my request. The challenge: explain six icons.
This is one I created, based on a photo
kalleah took.of a gate at a monastery. I don't remember why I focused on that one section of the photo (which was much larger), but some people have seen spectacles in the image of the ironwork. I used it for posts about nature, home, and certain other topics, until I decided (last year?) to remove David Tennant as my default icon, acknowledging that the Tennant-Davies era of Doctor Who was over and behind us. It was time to move on.
Ha! This one was inspired by an exchange
kalleah and I had a number of years ago, which could have been captioned, "What to do with a random naked lemon." I had zested a lemon for a recipe and wasn't sure what to do with the rest of the lemon. But at about the same time
postynotedreams, who lives in a lemon grove, was posting about overripe lemons coming loose in the wind and bouncing off the roof of her house.
"Random lemons FROM THE SKY!!!" I exclaimed. And made an icon.
This is both cute and reminds me of the work of Terry Gilliam for Monty Python. It was created by a user called
leelakin, whom I don't know personally, but credit should go where credit is due.
This is one of my favorite shots of my late cat. At full size it looks a bit like a 19th c. painting: something about the fur looks like brushwork. He was a very beautiful and very dear kitty.
ageless_aislynn made this one at my request. The actual line came from something someone else had said in an LJ comment thread all three of us were involved in. I confess: although David Tennant is so much My Type that it's occasionally painful to watch him, I'm actually more attracted to Nine than to Ten. He's fictional, I'm Catholic, but we could make it work ....
I optimistically believe this to be true.
