"Heritage" Progress
Well. I've now written an additional 5,000 words of "Heritage". Probably 500 of those are me talking to myself, and an additional thousand are fragments that occurred to me that were later re-used in the narrative. So that's about 3500 words.
They aren't necessarily consecutive. I spent the last few hours working on something that will occur after the halfway point. I think I've just about finished everything I need for the next chapter, though, so I should have something ready to post within the week. It could be much sooner than that, but I have to get some distance from it to edit it properly, and what with coming back to it every day I haven't been able to get that distance.
One thing that's been gratifying and intriguing to learn is that I can sit down even when I don't feel inspired, start writing, and eventually inspiration will come. At least on this story. I suppose I'll have to see what happens on other stories before saying this is reliable. If it is, then I've wasted a great deal of time not writing when I could have.
