I have to clean up an icky, icky semisolid and very smelly mess. It's on a rug that may or may not be washable. (It's antique.)
What do I do? Wear gloves and old clothes, I figured that part out. Have a lot of paper towels and a bucket for solids and soiled paper towels. Don't use ammonia. I've heard vinegar can be good, but I worry whether it might be bad for the rug, which I'm assuming is made of wool.
Advice very much desired!
