My friend F. is going to be visiting, supposedly, either Sunday or Monday. It's hard to predict with F. He takes month-long road trips, traveling from academic conference to academic conference. I hadn't conceived of the term before, but "itinerant scholar" seems to cover him fairly well.

Tomorrow's my birthday. I am considering going out to an all-night bakery and coffee shop in Hyde Park and picking up some slices of cake.
