So guess what I'm into lately?
Yes, that's right, the BBC's Merlin. XD It is so not historically accurate, but still so much love. And of course, Merlin/Arthur is my OTP.
I am definitely looking forward to NBC showing the series in January. Nice birthday present to me, ne? ^.^ That also means they'll eventually release the series on DVD with a region code I can actually watch. XD
So anyway, fic recs! I've been moving through the fic like there's no tomorrow (and holy crap is this fandom prolific.) Most of these fics are really long, which is always a plus for me.
Next Time, I Will Remember This And I Will Say 'No' by
paperclipbitch (PG-13, Arthur/Merlin)
Arthur convinces Merlin to pretend to be him when he visits a neighbouring kingdom to meet the eligible princess.
And None But We Can Be Such Kings by
janne_d (R, Arthur/Merlin)
Merlin really was the court idiot. Was this what the Dragon had meant by halves of a whole?
The Beast of Winter by
linaerys (R, Arthur/Merlin)
Arthur fights a beast out of legend. There's a very surreal feeling to the fic, almost makes it feel like you're reading a dream. The fic successfully mixes elements from the show and other, darker elements from Arthurian legend.
Springtime Promises by
linaerys (R/NC17, Arthur/Merlin)
Arthur and Merlin go to the Druid Isle for Beltane. This is the sequel to The Beast of Winter, but it also stands on its own.
The Chatter of Britain by
lynnmonster (R, Arthur/Merlin)
Gossip is what binds a court together; gossip, intrigue, and innuendo. Merlin is good at keeping things to himself, except when Arthur's around.
The World Under Heaven, Here All Is Lent by
takadainmate (PG, Arthur/Merlin)
Arthur and Merlin survive. My only low rated rec. XD The dynamic between Arthur and Merlin here is awesome, as they work together so effortlessly to defeat this menace.
