poesy

fragrant as gardenia overpowering
preening as the parasitic orchid
and as plotting as a pitcher plant you lie
in wait for unsuspecting prey.

wishing beedom, flies swarm thick as musk,
cloying, buzzing display in mindless circling,
seeking only to pollinate in blunder
but they are your food i see.

who else but i knows truly twinkling nectar
or the secret of its distillations honey
or how to feed it back to you elixer?
you cannot dream my alchemys.

to know would you need be the one devoured,
your blooming plucked, sipped, petals scattered
before my heart to gladden my path to godhead
and unveil your glimmering starlight.

fearing my excess, will you fall prey to natures?
a hundred pollinations for a single seed,
a thousand flowers for each full new plant
and your essence to wither unknown?

then, petals faded, dropped by time uncaring,
or now, strewn violently in ravishment
while eyes are clear enough the stars shine through?
have you will enough to see?
